Minister-President Raymond Doumergue apparently escaped from his home where he was put under house-arrest yesterday and according to some witnesses was seen boarding a small plane in Philippesville. The escape is said to have been accomplished with the help of mercenaries of unknown nationality. Sources say that the men were speaking "neither Mauquibian or Austral".

Grand Duke Louis-Philippe III has declared a state of emergency which effectively enacts martial law over the nation. People are to follow a curfew at 20h00 and inter-county travel is limited to essential travel. Borders with neighbouring countries are also expected to be operating at minimum capacity which could result in long traffic lines for anyone crossing into Mauquibie. Flights are also being cancelled or rerouted to the only airport that will remain operational for the duration of the state of emergency, the Édouard XVI International Airport in Baie-Louis. The state of emergency also automatically dissolves the Council of Government and the National Assembly, giving the Grand Duke full powers within the country.

Minister-President Raymond Doumergue has allegedly been seen stepping out of a small private plane bearing the Coat of Arms of the House of Cavagnal at Princia-Geneva—Brantavilla International Airport in Anserisa. This would corroborate the story that he successfully escaped his house-arrest in Mauquibie. However, the presence of the personal coat of arms of the Royal Family has led to many rumours that the daughter of Grand Duke Louis-Philippe III and heir presumptive to the throne of Mauquibie has been the one helping the Minister-President escape the country. She had recently been vocal on the need for reforms in Mauquibie and tabloids even suspected a love affair between the Duchess of Bourbonnais and Doumergue.

President Blanc to remain in Montaica for the week, taking residence at 57 Mount Pleasant Street due to stormy weather and to reduce travel before she heads to Grovne for the WF leaders debate next week.

Prime Minister Phelps has announced to Qans a Travel/Tourism agreement has been made between Qaweritoyu and Anseria. He said he looks forward to making a Parliament statement on this after the Winter Holidays and has vowed that the current Government and Governments to come will be committed to upholding this agreement. The Prime Minister also announced a commercial trade agreement between Qaweritoyu and Kosberland, which is also to be upheld by the present and future Governments. He says he looks forward to maintaining both agreements and that any profits made by Qaweritoyu will go into the Rainy Day Fund, which is a Government scheme saving money for a future emergency if it arises.

On the October of last year, a debate in the parliament was on fire. With the highlight of the debate being a representative accusing the flag of being "Unrepresentative of Ikoanian culture" and "Just a seal on a almost bedsheet as the flag experts call it" and another question the origin of the flag citing "It must be created by the Ezervulgish or even the Sedunners" when another said "The unnecessary design cost millions in the textiles industry". A weirdly tripartisan issue. Leading to the president declaring the creation of the Commission on Ikoanian Cultural Flag Redesign on December. Today the commission reveal the design they came up with.

The design was named "River's Triangle". While using the seal as inspiration, the triangle represents the joint unity of the three sides. It also uses the name of Ikoania which roughly translate to biggest river, with the blue diagonal separating its lush forests and beautiful beaches. It will be voted in a referendum at the end of the month. Current opinion polling is divided on the matter, we'll have to wait
