Election coverage - HEM - 11-02-2014

I don't know what plans we have for election coverage, but I kinda wanted to help administer rolling "election coverage" that is essentially run as a "show" covering every twist and turn of the upcoming election. The program would feature some limited polling, special guests, interviews, and commentary.

Any thoughts on this?

I had intended to start a thread on this. Thanks for taking the initiative. Smile

I know Awe is interviewing all members of the outgoing Cabinet. I think it would be interesting to have some articles analyzing the current term, both it's strengths and shortcomings. I was thinking of having guest speakers, perhaps even a panel?

I think your ideas for covering the actual election are great. Glen's poll is a good start, and we'll have plenty of material to cover once nominations open and campaigns begin. If we have a competitive election for Delegate/Vice Delegate, perhaps we could host a debate?

Articles are great, but I was thinking of going a different direction too if people like the idea.

Basically a rolling "talk show" featuring commentary from both sides and guest. I've done similar things in the past in other regions. We woulds still have a demand for traditional articles to delve a little deeper into specific topics, though.

Yeah I was thinking about a debate for a long time and was really looking forward to this just for a debate. I mean in real life TV debates count a lot and can really change how people vote and who wins. It would be good to have a poll every few days and one on the last day so we can see who is likely to win and how much the other person must do to win.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you propose, but if you've done it elsewhere, by all means let's give it a shot. Smile
