Resident Spotlights - Punchwood - 12-28-2014

I thought I would make this thread, to slap so activity into Resident Spotlights again. This is just for now, when Awe or someone else is ready to take back the reigns I'll be more than happy to take down this thread.

Some aims I thought of were these:

1. Find more people to spotlight. (duh!)
2. Make sure people who don't want to be on the forums can be spotlighted, and see other peoples spotlights.

To explain these.

Number 1 is simple find people to spotlight. Have people tell us who they think should be spotlighted, think ourselves who we think deserves a spotlight. Maybe, there active, maybe there funny or maybe there just interesting!

Number 2 just means that people that don't want to join the forum should get spotlighted a bit more and they should be allowed to comment on other peoples spotlights. I mean it's not fair to let some people out is it?

We have quite a few suggestions so here is a list of everyone we have suggested.

SJS*
Darkstrait*
Greece and its Allies*
Bear Connors Paradiso
Sam111*
Tomb*
Apad*
Caasd*
Qvait
Sedunn (JCRules)*
Punchwood*
Slobovia*

*Taken.
**Spotlighted.
Is there anyone else you think would be good to spotlight

Make sure you post about what you think should be done about Resident Spotlights and if my goals or objectives are good ones or if they need tweaking or if there just terrible! (please don't do the last one).

RE: Resident Spotlights - Kris Kringle - 12-28-2014

Just pointing out that the idea is never to Spotlight someone more than once. It's fine to interview them many times, specially if they are in government of involved in recent news, but Spotlights are a way to introduce them to the region, so ideally it should happen only once.

RE: Resident Spotlights - Punchwood - 12-28-2014

Ok then I never knew. But there are still plenty of new people that need to have a spotlight. I mean there are some people that have been here for years and have never had a spotlight but some have been here for only a few months but they have one! So this really does need to get revamped.

RE: Resident Spotlights - Awe - 12-29-2014

Thanks Punchwood for starting this thread. I think a good place to start Spotlighting people from would be names in the citizen's list or the Welcoming Centre. We could start with some of the people in the Ministry who haven't been Spotlighted, like Feirmont and Darkstrait.

Format-wise, I'd say no rules apply. What I want to say is, make every Spotlight unique, tailored to the individual. For this, IRC would be a better fit for its instant responses, but perhaps we could do an interview over TG/PM and another over IRC to compare the results

RE: Resident Spotlights - Punchwood - 12-29-2014

I've checked people in the fellowship Programme and most had not been spotlighted! Including me!!! (Dun, dun dunn!!!) So people in there would be great to spotlight, and some people who aren't on the forums would also be great like maybe new WA members or old members like Fudgetopia a member of TSP for years yet has never been spotlighted.

RE: Resident Spotlights - Kris Kringle - 12-29-2014

If possible, please don't spotlight Fudgetopia yet. I'm having an early idea about what to do with former delegates, and that might include special Spotlights (or not, I'm still thinking).

RE: Resident Spotlights - Punchwood - 12-29-2014

Ok.

RE: Resident Spotlights - God-Emperor - 12-29-2014

I personally think that Resident Spotlights would be better served by spotlighting non-citizen residents.

RE: Resident Spotlights - Punchwood - 12-30-2014

SJS, seems like a good one to spotlight. Though very new he already has got people talking and chatting away on the RMB. He is really a lot of fun and I think he could go far in the region, so I think he would be fun to spotlight.

RE: Resident Spotlights - Kris Kringle - 12-30-2014

Darkstrait and Greece and its Allies seem look good candidates as well. Perhaps also Bear Connors Paradiso?

I suggest giving options to those we approach. For instance, some might not be comfortable with IRC or the forum, so an interview through telegrams could be an option for them.
