BPDF Day: Brother Unclepear hints at final phase of reorganization

[Image: image-20150611-11396-2pd2hu.jpg?ixlib=rb...6&fit=clip]

On July 21st, Brother Unclepear for the first time attended the parades for the Bruuman People's Defense Forces Day as the new Dear Leader of the country. An appointment full of symbolic value, as the armed forces have always been one of the two main power brokers of the regime (the other being the Workers' Mojo Party). The recently deceased Papa Unclepear himself rose to prominence as a guerrilla commander during the independence war.

This year's parade did not unveil significant updates on the various branches' equipment, the most relevant news being an increased drone pool. However, during his speech Brother Unclepear hinted at the reorganization of the BPDF being in its final phase, which could signal both a change - or purge - among the top grades, an expected move, and the completing of the remoderning program which begun after the Serevan War.

Analysts postulates that the armed forces have moved toward a more defined split between a smaller, more professional army and all the collateral activities being staffed with conscripts, which include a vast array ranging from factories to services. Mirroring this process, the inventory has been refreshed, with monitoring groups pointing out at an increase in the exports of outdated stocks and import of new items, mostly from allied countries.

Bruuma names new foreign minister

[Image: 014743611-4e65262a-43bf-41c6-a83a-b7d01536cd6f.jpg]

Six months after the historical succession of Brother Unclepear to the helm of Bruuma, the first change in the cabinet made public has been unveiled. Anatoly McFaul, up to now Ambassador to Huawan, has been nominated the new Minister of Foreign Affairs in place of Sergej Hunt, who has been reassigned as Ambassador to the Frost Empire.

Analysts were well expecting the new leader to reshuffle the deck of ministers, and there may have been other changes, since not all positions are so exposed to the international eye. The reasons for the demotion, as it has been widely interpreted, of Hunt may lay in its failure to negotiate favourable concessions for Bruuma in the Serevan and Reizen theatres, or/and the inability to secure strong alliances outside the socialist countries. The choice of McFaul, relatively young and attached to the Peony’s court, may instead signal a will to shift the regime’s foreign policy toward a more pragmatic approach.

McFaul will be succeeded in his role in Huawan by Rosa Farrell, a diplomat of senior experience with a legal background.

Bruuma and Kai Fa are cooperating closely to improve their joint capability of cyber warfare, according to to a new report by w watchdog group. Operatives of the two countries are suspected of being behind a recent campaign of massive phishing attacks aimed at several countries.

Bruuma, despite its technological lag, showed an early interested in the potentiality of the net for asymmetric warfare as early as the  early 90's, and has invested significant resources to build up its  army of hackers, which are believed to report to the State Ge-Rouge secret service. Kai Fa is a later arrival, but caught up quickly due to the scientific-focused school system and the fast development of the electronic industry.

It is believed that, in addition to attacks toward hostile nations, Bruuma is also engaged in cybercrime to profit from online scams, a crime in which it might have involved Puerto Polloan former criminals, who specialized in this kind of frauds in the 00's.

Brother Unclepear announces new WMP's General Congress

[Image: fr_20201129112813.jpg?w=600&h=300&mode=c...scale=both]

Yesterday, Brother Unclepear held a speech in Bayougrad during the annual commemoration of the Serevan War, which ended three years earlier. The Dear Lader took advantage of the occasion to announce that on April 13th - Revolution Day* in Bruuma - the VII General Congress of the Workers' Mojo Party will be held.

It is worth noting that, while Revolution Day do celebrates the Party, it marks also the first year since Brother Unclepear succeded to papa Unclepear at to the helm of the country.

WMP's General Congress were generally held each decade, but in 2015 Papa Unclepear decided to summon again the beaurocracts after seven years from the previous gathering. The 2015 Congress was marred by squabbles between the Party and the military, with factional clashes reported in the streets.

*It celebrates the Wokers' Mojo Party declaration of the armed struggle against the colonial rule in 1936. It was chosen since the founding date of the Party is unknown, being someday of 1931.
