The Southern Socialist Union: Universal Healthcare - ProfessorHenn - 03-15-2015

The Southern Socialist Union
Discussion of a New Proposal
Universal Healthcare
Proposed by: Sporaltryus and Aquica

Fellow SSU members, I would like to call to attention to need for a Universal Healthcare System, funded by participating nations, in order to attempt to make the once complicated and bureaucratic system of national healthcare, a shining beacon of affordable, easy to use, international/regional healthcare for all SSU citizens and citizens of non-SSU members but of participating nations in this Universal Healthcare system.

Important Points:
  • Non-Mandatory System
  • Not an SSU-only System
  • All-Inclusive for a nation
  • Funded not by the SSU as a whole, but by any participating nations
  • Affects Healthcare System radically
Sporaltryus and Aquica is already in the process of adopting a Universal Healthcare system among the separating states and territories within the nation. We wish to spread this wonderful system to other nation that may find it useful, especially Darkstrait, given how the Civil War has destroyed much of it's infrastructure and that a majority of hospitals are destoyed/damaged heavily.

I am open to suggestions about this proposal, and how it may be worded, if it is necessary by participating nations.

We highly approve of such actions and will bring up legislation to vote on this measure internally.
However, we must inform our fellow members that funding at this point is needed to rebuild and will be limited.

It seems interesting, I like the idea of free health care. Although, we need to find a way to back it up economically to avoid any sort of deficit in our budgets.

Sporaltryus would increase the taxes upon citizens.

Our taxes are already immensely high, given our need to remove our debt.

We are removing our debt, for starters.

Sporaltryus and Aquica would like to hear about this idea form the Voodoo People's Republic of Bruuma before bring thi to a vote.

We reject the proposal as it stands.  Due to our security situation, we cannot accept the memebership of non S.S.U. nations nor the dissolution of the national healthcare system. We can agree on an integrated healthcare system between S.S.U. members, if it means cohoperation and cohordination between autonomous national healthcare system.

My dear Bruuma,

The entire idea was a "dissolution" of separate healthcare systems in favor of one, wide-range, easy to use system. "Universal" is the bigger word in this phrase.

Thank you.

I know, that why I rejected it. As stated in the previous post, I nevertheless would be open to alternative solutions that preserve the existence of the separate national system. Otherwise we will not be part of this initiative.

How about a complementary system? In which a determined standard is to be free to all citizens of the Union. That is, generating a fund saved by us, and letting each accommodate his nation over that standard. For example:

Every Member invests a certain amount to cover the Prevention of Dysentery and Hygiene Related Diseases, as well as transportation of patients from one Nation Member to another.

That wouldn't be an absolute solution, but more like a healthcare standard that all our citizens will have free access to. What is your opinion?

I could accept that.
