I would like to suggest this addition to our current Election Law...

1. Elections will be run by a member of the forum administration staff, acting as an election commissioner.
2. A designated Election Commissioner may be appointed if all members of the administration staff will be candidates in the given election, or if no administrator is able to be an Election Commissioner.
3. Any appointments for the Election Commission must be approved by the Assembly.
This would ensure any appointments have to be approved by the Assembly with regards to the EC. I don't think it's right that EC appointments are made with no oversight from the Assembly. Most other important appointments are approved by the Assembly first and the EC is one of those cases where a bad appointment could be disastrous for TSP.

If an Assembly approval is required then there has to be a timeline set for the admin team to make a decision on if one of them will serve or if they will appoint an EC.

I am not sure how necessary this actually is. We have no seen any cases of EC misconduct, and most of the time there is at least one admin who can serve as EC, so no appointment would be necessary.
Besides, what exactly would an EC do? They just need to set up election threads and certify the vote, which by the way cannot be altered. Once a vote is cast, the poll registers the voter's name. Even if the EC altered the tally numbers, one could check the list of people who voted and see if that matches. No actual vote manipulation would take place.

Maybe moving away from forum admins running elections would be a better idea. We used to have a commission of 3 who were appointed to a 6 month term. I would suggest just using a Cabinet/High Court appointment system.
Something like this:
Cabinet Elections - High Court appoints at least 2 EC's on the 1st of the month in which Cabinet Elections take place.
High Court Elections - Cabinet appoints at least 2 EC's on the 15th of the month before High Court Elections take place.
Special Cabinet Elections - A member of the High Court serves as EC.
Special High Court Elections - A member of the Cabinet serves as EC.
