On executive action - Tsunamy - 03-28-2015 If I want to ask the Cabinet to enact an executive action, should we vote on it or do I discuss this with the new Cabinet? Or both? RE: On executive action - Kris Kringle - 03-28-2015 The new Cabinet has no authority yet. As such, I think we should step into this election mess with an executive action. Since this clearly isn't law regarding when election results are questioned, I think we're good under Article 6.1.6. I say we vote to bar anyone from taking the MoFA seat until the court decides the election results. We do this with two caveats. First, if the discussions last beyond the start of the new term, Pen (with help from me and an outside third party if need be) can oversee the FA department. Second, if the court decides it can't decide the election, we hold a special election for the seat. As GR has posted un-relatedly, its a lot harder to kick someone from a seat once they are in it, hence why we should stop Wolf from taking the seat. Moreover, at this point, even if Wolf takes the seat, there will always be a question mark over him which won't help the region. As everyone has I'm sure figured out, there are no good outcomes here. But I think this is a step in the right direction. Thoughts? RE: On executive action - Unibot - 03-28-2015 I vote for the executive action. I won't be around much today, so just consider this a vote of support for this action. You're right and Glen-Rhodes is right about it being harder to kick someone after they take the seat. I would say Penguin and Feirmont would be a good team - Feirmont will know what he's been up to as MoFA for the past month, so all the contacts (Elegarth and others) will know him and be able to reach him. I have no problem with Feir, but I was a bit concerned that he might be a bit bit up with the MoRA stuff. Pen and I had talked about maybe Kris as a helping hand? (Sorry Kris, I know is a surprise.) RE: On executive action - Unibot - 03-28-2015 Yeah Kris would work too. It could also be a team effort. Penguin, Feir, Kris. Or something like that. RE: On executive action - Feirmont - 03-28-2015 I'm for the executive action and would have no problem helping with the MoFA. RE: On executive action - Tsunamy - 03-28-2015 Awesome Feir. Thanks. Votes: Tsu: Aye Pen: Uni: Aye Kris: Aye Feir: Aye Henn: Abstain I'd like to move ASAP. Once we have a majority, I'll announce. RE: On executive action - Kris Kringle - 03-28-2015 This will be very controversial. I suggest someone draft a statement clearly outlining the constitutional reasoning behind this decision, since we will need a strong basis to withstand criticism. I will vote Aye. RE: On executive action - Unibot - 03-28-2015 Quote:As many of you are aware – there are outstanding issues with regards to the recent Minister of Foreign Affairs election – several of which are still yet to be resolved by the courts. There are also a number of areas of the law in which it remains unclear how the region should respond to this contested mandate. |
