President Abchoy sends his well wishes to President Blanc and hopes for her quick recovery after what seemed to be an assassination attempt. He reiterated Techganet’s firm support for Izaakia, and will stand by them in the time of need.

Defence Minister Godrik Kim has assumed the position of acting President as part of his role as first minister of state. He is expected to address the nation on the condition of president Blanc later today.

The government of GI-Land is sending their best wishes to President Blanc and hopes that a swift investigation will lead to a trial against those, who were responsible for the attack on the Izaakian head of state.

Defence Minister and First Minister of State Godrik Kim has announced that President Blanc is alive, awake and stable following surgery. She is expected to remain in hospital for the rest of the week, however when released from hospital she will not actively be returning to her role as president until atleast Mid-November allowing time to sufficiently recover. 

Between now and then acting President Godrik Kim has vowed to continue President Blancs reforms and carry out her duties, delegating Defence Minister Duties to his junior minister.  

Regarding the attempted assassination incident, Godrik Kim said that despite earlier reports, only two of the assailants were shot dead at the scene, with the third is under armed guard and in critical condition after receiving multiple bullet wounds. He went further to name the deceased protection officer PC James Roberts who will be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Honour, and a state funeral as per ancient laws that state anyone who dies on parliamentary grounds is granted a state funeral.

Godrik Kim promised a swift and effective investigation, and said that so far police believe the attempted assassins to be an insular far right group of three. 

Video footage from last night show that the President was ambushed as she left parliament by two gun men, PC James Roberts jumped into the line of fire, taking the brunt of the first bullet, which traveled through his body and entered President Blancs shoulder where it remained lodged. Other protection officers shot the first assailant dead, the second assailant then shot president Blanc through the stomach when she grabbed PC James Roberts gun and shot the second assailant dead. Unaware of the seriousness of her injuries she then attempted to perform CPR on PC James Roberts, who sadly died of blood loss, due to this exertion she fainted and collapsed, whilst protection officers confronted the getaway driver, who was shot multiple times, but remains alive. An ambulance arrived within 3 minutes, saving the Presidents Life.

First Minister of State Godrik Kim thanks foreign dignitaries for their well wishes towards the President, saying she has received the messages and is very grateful. He went on to outline the latest police understanding of the case. 
The two main assailants were far-right monarchist extremists who we’re opposed to the abolition of the monarchy and the liberal governance under President Blanc. However, they did not act in isolation. They were armed and funded by an ethnic Hai-Menese Organised Crime Organisation which the getaway driver was a member of. Their involvement is believed to be in direct opposition to the Liberal Parties renewed opposition to Organised Crime and Drug Smuggling.

The reforms were introduced as a method to streamline the process of passing legislation ahead of the historic landmark vote on the ratification of the Grovne Conventions by the Alterran Congress on October 8, 2021. The act also encompasses the reform of the members of the Cabinet, replacing all ministries with equivalent departments (ie. the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has been replaced by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation), led by Secretaries (ie. Secretary of Defense, Foreign Secretary)
