Operation Vicious Spectre and allied fighting - Jay Coop - 07-28-2015

In late July 2015, the Armed Forces for the Fatherland (AFF), which is designated as a terrorist organization by the Collective Economic and Security Treaty Alliance, began gaining ground in Laiwan, causing a crisis. With the Ryccian government calling for help because of a refugee crisis, the Qvaitican government committed the 3rd Infantry Division of the Qvaitican Ground Forces and the Qvaitican Air Force to combat the AFF militants in Laiwan. The Qvaitican government would receive authorization from the Laiwanese government. It was agreed to by Qvaitican military officers that the military operation would be called Operation Vicious Spectre. In addition to the QGF and Air Force, Admiral Daniel-Beckham Cutter of the Qvaitican Navy, who is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has ordered the QRS Elias Duncan to oversee the naval operations of Vicious Spectre.

Above is a map that was received by the Laiwanese government. The area in blue is controlled by the Laiwanese government while the area in red is controlled by the AFF. The area in green is the neighboring country of Ryccia. After reviewing the regional map, it is clear that the AFF is in control of the mountainous region of Laiwan and is possibly conducting its operations in cave networks.

On 30 July, two days after the initiation of Vicious Spectre, the Qvaitican Air Force conducted nineteen airstrikes on AFF-controlled areas, possibly neutralizing 143 enemy combatants. The Qvaitican Navy sent in Neptune-Five, a team of special operators, to infiltrate a piece of the cave network and managed to take out a communications satellite dish. Neptune-Five neutralized 44 enemy combatants in the infiltration.

On 31 July, the Intelligence Service of Defense and Security had received information that Latoya Newman, the AFF's second-in-command, would be hiding out in a safe house in Laiwan. Six men from Neptune-Three were sent to capture Newman. However, Neptune-Three had fallen into an ambush. The intelligence gathered was disinformation. The six soldiers were KIA as a result of the ambush. Before becoming killed in action, the six soldiers neutralized sixteen enemy combatants. These are the first six Qvaitican casualties suffered in Vicious Spectre. In a separate sub-operation, the Qvaitican Air Force conducted 27 airstrikes that neutralized 104 enemy combatants. On the same day, the Qvaitican Defense Forces received approval from the Laiwanese government to establish a military base on Laiwanese soil.

Fay, AFF-controlled territory, Laiwan

The city of Fay had been taken by the AFF 4 days ago. About 1,000 militiants held the 73,000 populated city(In Laiwan, a city has to have at least 70,000 residents). The city, right in the border, was a target to the Laiwanese and Ryccian troops. If Fay was taken, AFF could not attack to its north, as it is a key city for AFF's supply line to keep fighting north. Although the AFF could keep fighting north, it would be weakened if it lost Fay.

2,500 Laiwanese troops and 100 Ryccian troops were going to attack the city. They began their bombardment with a fleet of 12 bombers in the east of the city, where most of the troops did patrol in the day. The Laiwanese-Ryccian Coalition entered the city, and started fighting.

Two dozen Darkstraitese Assassins have entered the country. Their goal will be to assassinate key AFF leaders.

The Qvaitican Air Force will dispatch an AC-130 Spectre to provide air support over the city of Fay.

A wing of Noctenosian aircraft composed of strategic bombers and UCAVs has recently crossed the border into Laiwan.

RE: Operation Vicious Spectre and allied fighting - Jay Coop - 08-01-2015

On 1 August, the airstrikes by the Qvaitican Air Force have stopped. The 3rd Division, 1st Brigade, 2nd Regiment, consisting of 1,000 soldiers and headed by Colonel Jason Frags, is prepared to do battle on the ground. The objective was Virosok, a town of 50,000 residents which is being defended by 530 militants. However, before Virosok could be taken, the villages around it must be captured. An AC-130 Spectre was deployed by the Qvaitican Air Force to provide air support for the 2nd Regiment. And so, on this day, the Battle of Virosok has begun.

RE: Operation Vicious Spectre and allied fighting - Jay Coop - 08-07-2015

After seven days of fighting, the 2nd Army Regiment has successfully captured Virosok while sustaining 392 casualties. The families of the fallen have been notified and have received the Purple Heart military decoration.

There are other towns around these, but since these are the most important, the others are not shown(your troops will notice the villages around those towns).

Misok is the AFF's capital.

Those that are not seen well:

Ghangzoug
Kalchok
