I'm not trying to step on the Chair's toes, but I've noticed that many of the discussions taking place here are not of a security-related nature, nor are they discussions of treaties or declarations of war. I noticed the same trend occurring in the old forums.
This is just a friendly reminder to everyone that if your topic doesn't pose a security issue if viewed by outsiders, then there's no reason for it to be posted here. The appropriate place to post it is in the normal Assembly forums.

Actually -- apologies GR -- I've been meaning to respond to you about this concern, actually.
I think this bring up an interesting issue. I, for one, don't have a problem maintaining privacy in the Assembly. It *is* the regional government and I don't think we need to allow everyone and their mother the ability to see what we're saying.
Thoughts?

I think openness of government is one of the more important aspects of TSP. Most of our GCR neighbors have public assembly forums, too. Most of the things we're discussing right now don't have anything to do with regional security, which is the entire purpose of the Private Assembly forums. It's important, in my opinion, to not fall victim to the temptation of locking out "prying eyes." Open discussion ultimately helps, even if there are cases where we might be embarrassed by our conduct being published in NS newspapers and tabloids.
Additionally, I think it's a selling point for people considering joining the forums, too. If they see something interesting and want to comment, they're more likely to register and gain citizenship. However, if all the "juicy" discussions keep happening in a hidden forum, then there's no attractive aspect to it.

I agree with Sandaoguo whole-heartedly. We don't need to deliberate things behind cloaks and smoke-filled rooms. It discourages dissent and leaves people out of the conversation.

Please -- if we can stop the over the top rhetoric, I'd certainly appreciate it. I don't think suggesting that our business shouldn't be open for the world to see kills dissent and/or prohibits input. Frankly, the type of input we get from this design is from people who have no business giving the region input, anyhow.
But, whatever. We'll keep the structure as is. Forget I mentioned anything different than the status quo.

Yes, and this forum is open to every single citizen in the region. That's about as open as you can get hahaha. That allows for open discussion for all citizens who make up this region. What more do you want, the ambassadors from South Anywhere giving their input?

I would like for non citizens to see Assembly discussions that don't have security implications. Many other GCRs do this, and we did it until a few months ago. I'm merely asking that people use the private forums only for what they are intended to be used for.

That would be a decision for the chair, would it not? It's up to individuals to decide where they feel it is appropriate to discuss a topic, and if the Chair disagrees he is free to move them.
