RE: The Treecuu Way - Imperial Frost Federation - 09-11-2018

Commander Kensei nods through his visor, "Understood, opening Quarantine zone doors..." The blast doors behind the commander hissed open revealing a foggy and dimly lit corridor. Gesturing towards the corridor, the commander continued, "Shall we?"

RE: The Treecuu Way - Qwert - 09-11-2018

Approx. one year before the invasion of Yim III
A small kitchen in a terrace house, Beev City, planet Ecteen, Treecuu Star Empire

It was early in the morning, but Tuum had already prepared her daily cup of bil, a steaming red beverage with plant extracts. She held it firmly with both hands and carefully took a first sip and breathed in slowly.

"Computer, voice to text record, title 'An Alternative Way'. Begin."

Tuum's command was confirmed by her computer with a cheerful beep.

"The Treecuu Star Empire, perhaps one of the most powerful empires known to exist. The great heroes of Utac showed us the way when..."

Tuum was abruptly interrupted by a stern voice. It was her mother, entering the kitchen.

"Not this nonsense again. I mean it, you could get in serious trouble for your strange ideas. Why can't you be more like your sister, she..."

"I know! I know! A fleet commander, decorated hero, knowing her place. We've had this discussion a million times. I'll tell you what she is. Part of the system!" snapped Tuum.

"And a good citizen!" her mother responded. "You know I do love you, but I can't let you submit this for everyone to see on the intercon."

Her mother turned to the computer.

"Computer, disconnect intercon, resume only on my command."

The computer beeped cheerfully again.

"We will have a talk about this when I get back from work. Now do yourself a favour, go out and look for a proper job. Like your sister." Her mother said as she walked over to the door.

Making sure her mother had left, Tuum picked up a short metallic cylinder and put it on the computer.

"Computer, connect to intercon and resume 'An Alternative Way'"

The cylinder contained a small device that could circumvent her mother's voice-activated restrictions. The computer confirmed her command.

"The Treecuu Star Empire is perhaps one of the most powerful empires known to exist. The great heroes of Utac showed us the way to go when they defeated Oleth and ended the Calamities. But was it a victory, really? Haven't we ultimately been defeated by fear and paranoia?

Let me tell you about the ugly truth behind our beloved state and why we must listen to the Alternative Way Movement. Let me start with what's really going on on planets like Bicaan..."

Tuum continued recording for more than a standard hour, then she edited the text before finally posting it on her favourite hub on the intercon. Like she had expected, her text was read several hundred times even before lunch.

"After you, Commander" Tiro responded. She reached into one of her pockets to make sure her back-up oxygen supply still was there.

The commander silently nodded as he entered the foggy corridor. The blast doors shut behind Tiro as the mist enveloped the two.  "Emissary Tiro, while you are a valued guest of the federation, we have a few questions we'd like you to answer before meeting the Council of governors" said a voice reverbrating through the wall in Treecuu with minor translation errors. So, Emissary, what is your function? Previous forms of contact with the Treecuu consists of space buoys warning DSERF Fleets of hostiles."

RE: The Treecuu Way - Qwert - 09-16-2018

"I have been appointed by the Senate to represent the Treecuu Star Empire and its people, making official first contact with the Venterran Federation, as part of our new foreign policy, where we aim to integrate our Empire into the wider community of this sector."

RE: The Treecuu Way - Imperial Frost Federation - 10-02-2018

"I see... well I would hope that you can come to some sort of agreement with our leaders who have many questions about your Empire's invasion of an intelligent species." the voice said, as the Commander ushered the envoy through another door and onto a moving walkway.

RE: The Treecuu Way - Qwert - 10-09-2018

"That is indeed my mission here. Your fleet's approach to the planet inhabited by the species you refer to is being monitored, and it is of utmost importance that I can correct the unfortunate misunderstanding that there has been an invasion of said planet. Before your 501st fleet make itself guilty of one of their own."

RE: The Treecuu Way - Imperial Frost Federation - 10-10-2018

"Whether or not the Fleet embarks on an invasion lays solely on your colleagues." The voice replies. " Our ships will not fire unless fired upon when investigating the situation. Our leaders are eager to hear both sides of the story... You should pray that your colleagues do not turn our foreign investigation into a full scale invasion by recklessly firing upon our fleet." Another blast door hissed open revealing a bright hallway as the commander said, "You will need your re-breather from this point on. The Carbon dioxide levels will be lethal for oxygen based lifeforms if necessary we can proceed after your eyes adjust to the brightness of the halls."

RE: The Treecuu Way - Qwert - 10-11-2018

Tiro picked up her re-breather.

"An investigation that 'listens to both sides of the story' would be most welcome of course, but I must say I cannot see the logic behind attempting an invasion to achieve that. Breach our border and there will be no one to return to tell about their experience, let there be no doubt. If your fleet refrains from breaching our border, you will be allowed to send one ship and escort to Yim III and confirm that I am telling the truth. Then I hope we can put this unfortunate and unnecessary misunderstanding behind us."

RE: The Treecuu Way - Imperial Frost Federation - 10-13-2018

“Attempt an invasion?? An expected if unfortunate misunderstanding, this is a large scale escort mission to assist a Deep Space Exploration Fleet uncover the truth of an incident occurring in uncharted territory. While this quadrant may be familiar to you, this is hostile and unknown territory for the rest of the Federation. Furthermore threatening the destruction of a minor Federation fleet won’t faze us. Your civilization would be doing the war hawks a favor by becoming a convenient enemy.”
