Teemas nodded.

"Indeed. That is acceptable. Just as a precaution, please note that the region in question is highly unstable at the moment. We will of course do everything we can to keep you out of harms way, and we have increased our military presence as a response to the aggressive behaviour of our neighbours.

I will need to contact the authorities from my ship before we leave."

"I appreciate that, Emissary.  I shall have the royal flagship prepared with a small escort, just in case."  The Emperor motioned to his aide-de-camp, who quickly moved into action, tapping away at an ornate datapad while the Emperor himself deactivated the holoprojectors, the primary lighting of the throne room reactivating while the courtiers and dignitaries debated amongst themselves.

"That said, you can use the commstations here in the palace for the sake of convenience if you so desire."

"Thank you, but the way our long-range communications systems work means I have to use the on-board computer to correctly embed the clearance codes."

"I see... no matter.  You will be given priority transport back to Ajakis Memorial Starport posthaste."

Julianus rose from his throne and walked back down, giving Teemas a grin that bared his teeth in as nonthreatening a fashion as he could.  "I think you will enjoy the voyage on our ships.  Many alien artists within our borders say that the shifting currents of Warp Space are a source of inspiration."

"How long can you hold your breath, Tiro?" Eeract smiled.

"Bah. You insectoids and your suspended auxiliary breathing system..." Tiro sighed.

While the Treecuu insectoids could in essence hold their breath indefinitely in most environments, though at a decreasing level of conciousness, the Treecuu amphibians could "only" survive for about an hour without oxygen air.

"Those corridors won't be a problem, but I will bring a small rebreather mask just in case" Tiro added.

Tiro stood up from her chair and reached for her long black robe. "Alright, Eeract chose one of your crew and follow me to the hangar. We'll take the Nuum."

"Oh, and decline their offer of an escort. Also, order the Taam Yim to conduct a full quantum scan of the Venterran ships, then return to Treecuu space at maximun speed. We will do quite well on our own."

Eeract stood at attention to confirm the order.

The Nuum was a repurposed landing shuttle of the same class as the Surface Warfare Forces used. Their FTL capabilities, manoeuvrability and elegant design had made them popular among other state officials. This shuttle class was also the first among the Treecuu FTL vessels not to have the warp nacelles mounted on wing-like constructions, which made them well-suited for smaller hangars, such as the one aboard the Taam Yim.

Hangar doors at the aft of the frigate soon opened and a glossy white shuttle began its short voyage towards the Himiko's Revenge.

 Kensei's Perspective
Himiko's Revenge

The interior of the Portside Hangar was strangely devoid of fighter space craft and drones. On both sides of the Shuttle were 4 sets of elevators covered by a hard-light floor. The walls showed signs of battle with scorch marks on the wall and spent casing strewn along the floor. Above the hangar 4 sets of autonomous turrets trained on the shuttle while 2 manned turrets guarded the entrance into the rest of the Carrier. Commander Kensei stood in front of the shuttle doors with a pair of Venterran marines, with several more standing at attention. His eyes darted between the Treecuu, and the opening of the shuttle, as if to check to see if he had been deceived before resting on the Treecuu’s eyes. “Welcome aboard the Himiko’s Revenge” said Kensei in what seemed to be fluent Treecuu.

Ladon System
Pax Dracon

"Very well" Teemas answered, reaching for her hood.

She turned towards the other end of the great hall.

"Shall we?"

Julianus nodded and motioned for two of the guards to follow alongside his retinue, taking a moment to look around the hall as the courtiers continued to debate amongst themselves.

"I see you have caused quite a stir in my court, Emissary.  You have no doubt seen the news broadcasts during the weeks you spent in transit here regarding public opinion.  I hope it isn't too much of a problem for you."

The Emperor squinted slightly as the doors slid open to let in the bright light of the star Ladon, his pupils contracting into narrow slits.  "Such a beautiful day, wouldn't you agree?  Had we the time, I wouldn't mind bringing these talks to the gardens."

Special Emissary Tiro, Himiko's Revenge
Tiro jumped down from the shuttle, landing steadily on her feet. The door to the shuttle closed behind her. She looked at Kensei and answered.

"Thank you. I am Tiro, Special Emissary from the Treecuu Star Empire. The people of Treecuu and their Empire greets you, Fleet Commander Kensei. Thank you for granting our humble request to meet your government."

Tiro let her long black robe drop to the hangar floor and exposed her palms, the traditional Treecuu greeting to show there were no concealed weapons.

=11ptHimiko’s Revenge=11ptThe Fleet Admiral was puzzled by the Treecuu’s action, “Well our government is keen to get the facts after receiving that transmission from the Aryyt’t.” He then continued motioning to the blast doors behind him, “If you have any weapons or unknown substances, please declare them now, as we will be passing through the quarantine zone. I am also required by Venterran law to inform guests of the federation that Oxygen levels will be unpredictable past these doors.”

RE: The Treecuu Way - Qwert - 09-08-2018

"I do not carry weapons, and the only substances unknown to you make up my body. We are ready to proceed" answered Tiro while picking up her robe from the floor.
