A1905.01: Amendment to Article 3 of the Legislator Committee Act - Bzerneleg - 05-08-2019

Legislators,

A proposal has been introduced to amend Article 3 of the Legislator Committee Act.

A motion and a second have been received to bring this amendment to a vote.

As this is a constitutional law amendment, the voting period is five days and will require a three-fifths supermajority of those voting in favour to pass, with the exception of abstentions. The vote will end on the 13th of May, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. (UTC).

Legislator Committee Act
An Act to establish a commission to manage legislators

3. Legislator Checks

(...)

(2) Within the first week of each calendar month, the Legislator Committee will remove legislator status from a legislator if they failed the voting requirement in the past month, if applicable, or otherwise no longer meet the eligibility requirements as described herein. If a legislator no longer meets the eligibility requirements (not including the voting requirement), and it would be impossible for them to meet the requirements before the first week of the following calendar month, the Legislator Committee may remove their legislator status at their discretion before the appointed week. The Legislator Committee may exercise discretion and not remove legislators under reasonable extenuating circumstances.

Please be advised that the vote to amend Article 3 of the Legislator Committee Act has PASSED.

The final tally is 26 in favour, 2 in opposition, with 9 abstaining, for a total of 37 votes.

The vote was passed with 93% voting in favour, exceeding the requirement for a three-fifths supermajority of those voting with the exclusion of abstentions.
