As opposed to any form of intimidation and retaliation? Cause I'm pretty sure ALL of those are bad things. Which should instead of being solved by hiding votes, should be solved by idk punishing people who are intimidating and retaliating on others. What also stops intimidation and retaliations anyways? It's not like everyone keeps their mouths shut about who they vote for. I could tell a "friend" and then they tell someone else accidentally and then opposite candidate learns of this and retaliates. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I wouldn't challenge that notion, but I think this is trying for a solution for a different root problem that's only tangentially related in certain circumstance.
