[FAILED] A2103.01 Amendment to the Criminal Code (Sentencing Guidelines) - Purple Hyacinth - 03-18-2021

Legislators,

There has been a seconded motion to bring an amendment to the Criminal Code that adds sentence maximums to vote. The debate thread can be found here.

As this is an amendment to a general law, it requires a simple majority (greater than 50%) to pass. The voting period will last 3 days, ending on March 21 at 20:30 UTC. (20:30 in London, 16:30 in New York, 7:30 on the 22st in Sydney)

Please vote by poll if possible. If you cannot vote by poll, post 'Aye', 'Nay' or 'Abstain' in this thread. Please do not vote both by poll and by post. Comments and discussion belong in the debate thread and should be posted there.

2. Punishments

(3) If found guilty of any other crime listed above, the Judiciary will determine a sentence. The sentence must be proportionate to the offense., and if it involves a ban, the ban must be no more than:

a. 2 years for Identity fraud, Espionage and Blackmail
b. 1 year for Extortion and Defamation
c. 6 months for Corruption, Bribery, Electoral Fraud and Whistleblower Outing
d. 3 months for Vexatious Charges

(4) The Judiciary's sentence for Contempt of Court may be as they see fit, with no limitations.

This has failed, with 35% of votes in favor (17 Ayes, 32 Nays, 19 Abstains).
