Due to a large preoccupation with other events, the State of Eggraria had not ratified the results of the referendum for an amendment to Article III of the Eggrarian Constitution. A full count is expected by the end of June 18th, 2022.

The ruling Liberal Party has passed Izaakias first minimum wage legislation, mandating a minimum wage of $12/hour throughout Izaakia, and $15/hour in the New Mako/Izaakston. The law is to go into effect on unification day, August 1st.

Trawling has been banned in The Izaakian Exclusive Economic Area, as have trawling ships landing their catch in Izaakian ports, and the import of fish products which have been caught using trawler vessels, with a certification process introduced for fish imports to Izaakia to prevent destructive fishing practices.

In the new Budget Chancellor Amadeus Pond is to introduce graduated income tax, increasing the income tax rate for earning over $400,000 from 20% to 40%, for people earning over $200,000 the rate will be increased to 35%, over $100,000 the rate is increased to 30% and over $65,000 the rate is increased to 25%, earnings under $20,000 remain untaxed. Other measures include an increase VAT from 5% to 20%, an increase corporation tax from 10 to 20% on profits and an increase in capital gains tax from 2% to 20% on earnings over $500,000 per annum.
The most drastic tax increases in Izaakian history have taken many by surprise, with the radically reforming Amadeus Pond defending this as the only opportunity to overhaul the Izaakian economy, and remove structural weaknesses in government institutions, these moves are expected to increase the chancellors budget by 75%. Amadeus pond went further to promise no further tax rises in this parliament, and called for patience in seeing the positive impact this government spending will have, saying that Izaakia will still have one of the lowest rates of tax burden in the world.

The Office for National Statistics has announced economic annual growth for the 2021/2022 financial year at 5.4%, primarily driven by population growth due to inward migration and growth in the home nations.
GDP grew per capita by 1% in Keylian Izaakia, and 4% in the Home Nations of Montacia and Brodlancia where reunification programmes are accelerating growth. Population grew by 2%, around 2 million additional people, with approximately 1 million new people in Keylian Izaakia and 500,000 each in the Home Nations. Overall the ONS described the growth particularly in Keylian Izaakia as subdued due to economic sanctions at points throughout the year, however, overall the economy is once again firing on all cylinders.

Sallodesian President George D. Smith signed a bill to increase the military budget by another $80 billion as he stated Sallodesia should follow the Stoinian example and engage in humanitarian aid around Pacifica.

The Ryccian junta has announced a dramatic ramp-up in military spending, more than doubling the budget from $200 billion to $480 billion. The junta is forbidding Ryccian stock markets from trading under penalty of execution.
