It's a matter of personal preference. You like it, he hates it, so do I. You like it cos you've lived with it all your life. We don't cos we haven't.

I feel it's less that, more you both live closer to the equator, and in places where it isn't particularly useful. I'm actually just interested in hearing why Ryccia thinks it's obsolete.
