A proposal has been introduced to amend Articles 6, 7 and 8 of the Charter of the South Pacific.

A motion and a second have been received to bring this amendment to a vote.

As this is a constitutional law amendment, the voting period is five days and will require a three-fifths supermajority of those voting in favour to pass, with the exception of abstentions. The vote will end on the 26^th of JUNE, 2019, at 03:30 a.m. (UTC).

(2) The procedure for the appointment of the justices will be defined in a general law by the Assembly.

(3) Procedures for the conduct of criminal trials and civil cases will be defined in a general law by the Assembly.
