Office of Assembly Affairs |
Dear Assembly,
I initially offered myself as a member of the Legislator Committee as I saw it was one which needed filled and not many were willing to step forward. I did so it if a desire to serve the region and not from any intent to gain power, not did I believe it was something I would enjoy doing. In the just over six months in which it has been my privelege to serve on this body, I have done my best to ensure legislator applications have been processed promptly and that our regional security has not been compromised. I have, however, not always found it easy to meet these requirements and, increasingly, I feel like I am not serving the region to the standard I would prefer. This is in part because administrative duties are not amongst my strengths, but also because of changes in my real life scheduling and the fact that I'm usually only able to access the forums on mobile devices as my home laptop is often tied up. As such, I now feel it is most appropriate for me to tender my resignation and ask the Cabinet to fill the vacancy. I believe the region is in a better position to provide a willing replacement now than it was in December and I look forward to seeing who might step up to this opportunity for service.
