Demilitarization
#166

Nor in Europeia or TNP really. And TNP I would say has a more similar culture, and they have invested a bit in their military once they could afford it, and its paid dividends. Anyway I fear we're going off track. The point is, is it worth giving up offensive military capabilities, and why?

I'm seeing Kringle and Unibot arguing for a similar thing - from two different perspectives. Unibot is talking primarily about the controversy of offensive military actions and how that isn't in our interests, so we may as well dissolve the military. Kringle is talking mainly about the resources that maintaining the military in its current form takes up, and that we need to have a much simpler system that takes less specialist skills and investment of time to run.

Personally, I believe if we want to save on resources by moving to a National Guard reservist type set up, that is a possibility. But we can do that without limiting ourselves to purely delegate transfers, because that would be a major loss for the region diplomatically.
