I will point out that we once had a procedure to contest results. I saw it when reviewing election threads from 2005-2007. I would certainly provide some space to contest results, when there is reasonable suspicion that proper procedure was not followed, and that would in turn benefit the elected party, since it would ensure the legitimacy of their election.
