Sea Elves and The Amourisi

The original inhabitants of the Raiders Republic were the Amourisi, a species who are large and slender, with an average height of 10 feet they are large enough strike to fear into mortal men, but not quite giants. For thousands of years through the early ages of man the Amourisi lived simple and relatively peaceful lives, isolated from the world by hundreds of Toors of open ocean they knew not of the outside world.
This was until the current age, which started one and eleventy hundred years ago. In the year naught of our current era the sea elves emerged from their slumber under the waves and oceans, where they lived for an age without venturing to the surface. They lived in a great under water city called Ship Wreck Cove, for the early inhabitants of ship wreck cove lived in the wrecked ships of the Amourisi. In Amourisi legends they speak of these Sea Elves as Sirens, Mermaids, the Kraken and the Hydra, for no ship which was ever taken by the sea Elves ever released its victims from the embrace of the sea. As the sea elves learnt and evolved they began to no longer concern themselves with the surface, and became myths and legends falling out of the memory of the Amourisi.
Until year naught of the current age, when an army of the pale blue Sea Elves emerged from the sea in their bronze armour and turquoise shields. Although great in stature by the standards of men with an average height of 6feet and 7 inches a single sea elf could not subdue an Amourisi in a fair battle. Over the next century there was a Great War between the Amourisi and the Sea Elves, both of whom in normal times are blessed with exceptionally long lives, until the last stand of the Amourisi in the year one and one hundred. The victorious sea elves butchered the Amourisi and enslaved the women and children, and for the Millennium since have used the Amourisi as slaves to farm and to build their great structures of immense height.
Blessed with exceptionally long lived the Sea Elves took advantage of their new amphibious life, and the possibility of using parchment and ink on land to write down their great ideas and advancements and to learn from greater minds. However, a long life bordering on immortality often leads to a desire to death, and once the Sea Elves built ships that could take them over long distances with ease they searched for new lands and found a huge array of peoples and races, humans, dwarfs, orcs, fairies and many more, with great wealth. So, the Sea Elves who believed their life to be near complete would sail west and south beginning to raid the coastal cities of the world, risking their lives for great wealth and slaves. They brought back slaves of all races and while often the slaves would revolt, the sea elves would retreat to safety in their under water utopia and plot their suppression of the revolts, often brutal and without remorse.

Then ten and two hundred years ago, they decided to set free the enslaved races except the Amourisi and this brought great enterprise and wealth. The raids of course continued and many a concubine and slave returned to the Raider Republic, however never in the quantities of earlier ages and the Sea Elves culture became torn between the traders who wished to live long and wealthy lives, and the raiders who had grown bored of life pursued only pleasure and death in battle.
