SUSPENSION OF ISLANDS OF UNITY
6 December 2018
Esteemed Legislators,
Please be informed that @islands_of_unity is to be suspended from the Assembly for a period of 24 hours, beginning from the time the Legislator Committee applies this suspension.[1] The conduct of islands_of_unity was disruptive to the regular business of the legislature and is grounds for suspension. While I encourage all Legislators to engage in discussion on any matter they desire, to do so in very old threads (or ten for the matter) instead of creating new threads, is unnecessary. As Chair, I frown upon this gravedigging and warn other Legislators against this practice. To engage in a meaningful discussion was, however, not the intention of islands_of_unity. The Deputy Chair stated in the Legislators' Lounge: 'It is within my rights to do this, and i [sic] think that it is an efficient but serious form of protest' against '[the] security reformations proposed by roavin as well as the establishment'.[2] A formal warning has been issued to islands_of_unity. Should he fail to reflect on the propriety of his actions during his suspension and continue to engage in such behaviour, the Office of the Chair will respond accordingly. [1] Legislator Committee Act, Article 3. Legislator Checks, Section 4, stipulates: ‘The Chair of the Assembly may order the Legislator Committee to suspend legislator privileges for disruptive members. Frequent suspensions may be grounds for ineligibility, if found appropriate in a fair trial by the High Court..’ [2]Legislators' Lounge (06/12/18): 7:30 a.m. (UTC+08:00)
