Italia is a corner stone of Stoinian culture. Located on the Central Route between Stoinia and Elysium, it serves as both a cultural and economic hub on the trade route. Italia is known for its people that honour the memory of the ancient Romans of Terra and it is often called the planet of marble for its cities are often made from marble.

History
Italia was founded by 3.000 colonists in the late reign of Iulian I, the Starwalker, as part of the cultural preservation act. By this act colonies were made to preserve Terran cultures without to much interference from one another, however some colonist had the idea of reliving ancient cultures and thus the idea of a Nova Roma became popular. These bold citizens took upon themselves to remake Roman civilization. Large construction plans were made to make a new Rome. In a few years the first aqueducts were made. They also renamed themselves in Roman fashion, though no racism was present unlike ancient times. Though racial nicknames stuck such as the Representative Spurius Nigidius Niger who is of black ethnicity and the nickname stuck with the family. Latin also re-emerged and became publicly spoken again, although some pronunciations changed as for new words to complete the vocabulary. As the cities became more vibrant and full of colours, immigrants came from all over the Star Kingdom and the Nova Roman culture exploded in the reign of Andrei II roughly 2 centuries ago. Marble from both the planet and moon became famed across the Star Kingdom, alongside the wine and olive oils.
Italia didn't know the same harsh times as other colonies. In all the crusades and the Velutarian War, they remained spared and while magnificent cities were turned to rumble, Italia still showed what could become with hard work. To this day it shines as a beacon of hope, what colonies might achieve.

Planetary Government
The Nova Romans take pride in their own system of planetary government inspired by the Roman Republic. The day to day operation is done by two Consuls, elected by popular vote, who both have veto power against one another. They each run for one year and can run again after a period of 5 years. The Nova Roman Senate mostly consists of descendants from the original 3.000 colonists and are considered the Patricians, the wealthy elite which gave work to the new immigrants which often were called the Plebs. This distinction became prominent, but intermarriages between the two classes were not prohibited, thus the classes were tolerated by the larger Star Kingdom. Aside from the Consuls ther was the Senate with Praetors which held judicial authority and Quaestors which resemble financial ministers. There also were Tribunes of the Plebs, Luna and military which held certain veto powers, but they largely serve as representatives.
The head of the Planetary Government is Princeps Marcus Ulpius Reginus, Reginus is the nickname he gained as he emulated the Stoinian King's speech. The Princeps serves as the Viceroy of the King on the planet and holds symbolic power with a sceptre and a purple toga.

Culture
Roman culture regained prominence once again. Triumphs, festivals and games of old were reinstated. Latin became spoken again and fashion also became popular according to one's ranking. However the wealthy Patricians no longer held many slaves and servants, they were expected to be intellectually and morally superior as was expected of rulers. They walked on their own and weren't carried around by slaves. Markets however weren't drenched in mud and made out of wood, technology was still applied and lamps lightened up the cities at night. Mass transportation does exists, but only in the underground.
Games are often held on Italia, gladiatorial fights and circus races are held almost every week. Although they no longer are performed by slaves, they are done by highly regarded professionals who train their whole life for such an honour. It isn't a surprise that Nova Romans have gained the reputation as excellent melee fighters and horsemen. Nova Romans are also known for their brutality and ferocity when facing combat.

Aside from culture the Nova Romans also refounded the Roman belief of Deus Sol Invictus, the invincible sun. They believe that stars are aspects of Deus and His way to give and maintain life. Saturnalia is the most important festival for this religion in the winter solstice. The head of this religion is the Pontifex Maximus which acts in same ways as an Orthodox Patriarch. Raising a large statue in the deity's honour, the Colossus Solis. Their religion has become a centerpoint in their culture as it forbids polygamy and guides as an example for a prosperous life. This religion however remains only present on Italia and rarely are there found other colonies with the same religion.
Nova Roman is also martial and members can become Tribunus Militaris be joining the Nova Roman Legions and serve there. Once they get selected through the meritocratic process, they can become Tribunes. However this is a tedious process and although there is a central military, the Nova Romans hold their own distinct planetary defence force which emphasizes melee combat above ranged combat. Trained to survive in the wild and show enormous courage, expected to give their lives to protect the Aquilifer and Their members often join the larger Stoinian military after 5 years as a Nova Roman Legionnaire where they are forged into elite warriors. Even though they emphasize melee combat they also are trained for ranged combat, but prefer to get close. Their armour might look archaic but it is upgraded with latest technology and can absorb both melee and  and high energy impacts. They are considered to be amongst the most elite fighters of Stoinia and their most elite guard, consisting of just 200 men, the Palatini are reserved for the King and serve as a detachment to his Royal Guard. They are recognised by their white crests they have on their helmets and are the most highly regarded military personnel. Unlike the standard military, Legionnaires are being paid for by the Nova Roman Senate, this is done by an early pension salary statute which doesn't breach the military law.

Geography
The planet golds multiple biomes, but most cities are in the mediterranean areas where olives and other Nova Roman goods can grow. The arctics and colder area are mostly left to their own. The planet also doesn't hold any space elevators and for that reason select spaceport are made out of marble.

Satellites
Italia has one barren satellite called Luna. Luna is a rather small moon and has vast resources of marble. For that reason there are many mining operations on the moon which were essential for the construction of the many marble cities of Italia.
