Early Campaigning period
#41

Except you do have a chronic mistrust of administrative actions. That's why you keep comparing us to Hileville whenever we do something you disagree with, even if this administrative team is much more open to criticism than previous ones (no offense to former admins, I know this job isn't always easy).

You are making this a huge free speech issue, when it really is just admins saying that we won't open the elections forum until elections actually begin. If you disagree with that then great, you are free to make your case, but the truth is that we do have the authority to organise the forum. That is what forum administrators do: they administrate the forum.

First of all everyone stop being a dick to everyone else. Because that all that I'm seeing and I am talking to EVERYONE!

Now that that's out of the way, I must say I agree with Unibot here. You admins should open the proper area for campaigning because there is no law against it. I don't see why you are being so stubborn, The Assembly is not the right place for campaigning. I quite frankly think you are just being lazy, you don't want to make the correct area for campaigning because you are worried people in the future might do it as well, so you will have more work to do. That's how I see it that is what you are saying.

There is nothing in the code of laws that says the Election Headquarters must open on the day the elections start, there is also nothing about early campaigning so I'm afraid your in the wrong. The only reasons you won't open it up are, 1: You are stubborn and two you are lazy.

You do not have the sole authority to organise the forum. Furthermore, it is a free speech issue.

You believe that forcing early campaigners to campaign in places where it isn't necessarily welcome will bring shame to them and persuade others to not campaign early. That is the purpose of deterrence and social engineering - shame, blame and move on.

Henn is only doing what the law explictly permits him to do. His campaigning should be accommodated by the administration with a subforum and he should not be shamed for campaigning when he cannot attend the election period!

As someone with more administrating experience then (most likely) the entire administration combined, from a technical aspect it won't be that hard to make the needed forums, given the myBB platform I could do it in 15 minutes tops.

I don't believe the 'admins are lazy' argument is the issue.

Let it be on record that it was Unibot who said early campaigning in the Assembly should be a shameful thing to do.

Why would this community want someone who has an inability to disagree with someone without accusing them of hyperbolic insult

Excuse me - you know that is not what I said. Zingers are not conducive to a good dialogue and furthermore, don't reflect well on your administration.

I did not use a "hyperbolic insult" and the response I have received is simply to mock me, thank you very much. I think it is wholly unacceptable that the administration is trying to use Henn as an example to discourage people from doing something, when Henn is just doing what the Assembly already said he had a right to do.

It's just mean towards him and the response so far from the administration has been childish ("Let it be on record that it was Unibot who said...").
