Resignation
#1

In accordance with Article 1.6 of the Code of Laws, I hereby resign from the position of Chief Justice of the South Pacific, effective 3:30pm today.

It was not my intent to serve past these elections. I did not plan on a term extension, nor for the Chief Justice elections to be moved. As, barring extreme circumstances, I am to be elected Minister of Regional Affairs, I have no choice but to resign my judicial position.

I thank everyone for the successful term, and for the current elections. It's been an interesting time as Chief Justice.

You should read the Charter to see about the new judicial structure.

It was my understanding that we were going to hold elections for Justices in line with normal elections. Then in another month and a half, with the new election laws...

Article 4: The High Court of the South Pacific

Section 1 - Composition and Powers
1. The High Court shall consist of three Court Justices.
2. The Court Justices shall select one of themselves to serve as Chief Justice.

We aren't electing a chief justice, we are electing three Court Justices who will then decide amongst themselves which of them will be the Chief Justice.

There needs to be a special election asap, and Kris needs to nominate an Appellate Justice.
