Sandaoguo for Minister!
#21

No, it wasn't.

It was based on it, but several key differences still lie.

Keep trying, Sandy.

I have no clue what point you're trying to make, then. The course of actions we've taken are pretty standard and apply to many situations.

It would be helpful if you just ask a simple question, rather than create a difficult to parse fictional scenario.

I hope that will be the case! The Fellowship Programme is an excellent addition to our government recruitment efforts, but unfortunately there haven't been many opportunities as far as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is concerned. But with a culture-focused foreign affairs program, I'll need all the help I can get! Certainly, MoFA and MoRA will need to coordinate on things like festivals.

Obviously that would be subject to planning between both Ministries, but off the top of your head, what kind of culture-oriented jobs would MoFA offer? What would they entail?

Ideally, I would have somebody who can represent us in the World Assembly and bring the World Assembly here. (It actually used to be very common for WA authors to come to GCR forums and debate.) I would also want somebody who can serve as a representative to the broader NS RP community. That's a role that I could see multiple people fulfilling. We have a budding RP community here, and I'd want to see what you guys can do with other regions, if that's a possibility.

A culture-focused approach to FA will also require regular interaction with regions. While I have no interest in bringing back the old Diplomatic Service that simply posted FA updates, I've been thinking about bringing back Ambassadors. I haven't really fleshed out their role quite yet. It really depends on what other regions are okay with-- can TSP ambassadors post on their RMBs, for example.

I wouldn't mind seeing our forum hosting regular and rotating visitations from other regions (not just allies, but potential partners too), like we do with festivals, either. That would be something that would require direct coordination with MoRA, as that is really something normally under their jurisdiction.

^ Llamas is running on a Treaty with TWP-TSP. What do you think of the treaty idea?

Additionally, if TWP wanted a treaty but refused to acknowledged TSP's sovereignty and its legitimate state, would you still pursue a treaty with them?
#27

The difficulty with a treaty with TWP is that, as a rule, all of our treaties first and foremost seek to establish the legitimacy and supremacy of the Coalition-- the forum-based, elected government of TSP. This is something TWP has never agreed to and I don't see any changes from TWP's top leaders on that issue. We can work together on a lower level just fine, but a full alliance is undermined by TWP's refusal to back forum-based governments. Partnership? Maybe.

We don't have a Minister of Foreign Affairs, so I'm not sure who Llamas talked to that approved of the treaty. I will say that I was given an advanced copy of the draft, and I told Llamas that it would be a very steep mountain to climb without TWP officially recognizing the Coalition.
#28

Thanks Glen. I agree. In my opinion, TWP will have to back down on its opinion. It can't keeping expecting us to respect their position in TWP and not expect our opinion here in TSP. It's untenable; we've got just as much sovereign right as they do.

For clarification, no one approved the treaty. Llamas and I had talked and I said I would take a look at what he's working on. The Cabinet has been discussing it.

I think that was in reference to what Llamas said:
