It's about this Singularity that I too, wish to hear more of.
And ascribing human motivation to a cosmic overlord of any stripe is rather foolish I would imagine.

That's different from imposition of human frailties on a deity. Taking comfort and motivation from the idea of a creator is not the same thing.
And the fact that they are motivated by the idea is not an inherently good thing. Look at all we have wrought in the name of God over the millennia.

Not all that different in all probability. Humans are still wired the way they are, that wouldn't change. We'd just invent different reasons to do many of the same things to each other and ourselves.
