Citizenship Denial in TNP
#1

Hello TSPers Smile

We've had some controversy recently about citizenship denials and security threats.

I though a recent TNP conversation about security issues was quite fitting because some people who have recently joined us keep mentioning TNP as their standard of what's what in NS.

Basically the gist of it seems to be that people who support and perpetrate coups as well as those who pose a risk to the region should be treated with concern.

That's not a publicly accessible thread [emoji12]

TNP's security practices are fairly good. Their reviews are very thorough as well, which is something I think we should adopt.

This is also only the third "security threat" rejection in TNP in over 5 years.

How many security threat rejections did TSP have in the past 5 months again?

It also seems that the decision was very unpopular and is likely to be overturned, as was the case with the past two citizenship denials that happened a few years back.

From what I read, the reason there weren't more is because they didn't have the tool beforehand.

I wouldn't speculate on what may happen over what has happened.

Based on recent actions taken by prominent individuals who got back into people's good graces, you can't change a leopard's spots.

TNP has had this ability for years, although it was not always the Vice Delegate who held the power to reject applications on security grounds, but it is very rare for it to be exercise.

On a different note, should we in TSP really be posting about TNP private matters that are from the Private Halls of the Regional Assembly? For some reason, I think the Assembly of The South Pacific would be rather (justifiably) pissed if someone started posting topics from our Private Halls to another feeders forums.

Is it private? I'm a citizen so I totally lost track of whether or not its private. I've taken the link down and am asking the Delegate\VD about that.
