Issue #1: Aid to Scalten: Laiwan sends aid to the people of Scalten

Three of the five humanitarian aid ships sent to Port Delfino

In an effort to spread peace worldwide, Laiwan has sent 5 humanitarian aid ships to Port Delfino to the people of Scalten. The aid includes foodstuffs, water, reconstruction materials, toys and books.

In a speech on the situation, the Premier Maria Shang has expressed herself:
"Since our foundation, our country has focused on maintaing peace and diplomacy as its core values, and we wish to spread them to the world. We have learned because of the Laiwanese Revolution, in where we fought for our liberty, but almost no one came to our aid. We do not wish to impose the same fate on others. And I lost my family because of that... I do not wish that fate to be with thousands of other souls..."

After her last sentences of the first paragraph, the Premier cried because she remembered the dark fate her family suffered in the revolution, in which socialist rebels killed her family when they denied them supplies. These socialist rebels actually were sanctioned by the rebel group, and after the revolution was won, they were trialed, along with hundreds of other militiants who did similar crimes.

"I... I wish for a world of peace, not of war. I call upon the world powers to help the Scaltian people so they do not suffer anymore! Let the fire of Port Delfino not be in vain! I wish that. I call upon the SSU, our trusted allies, to defend peace, a value of the SSU. Let us enter a world of peace!"

Laiwan stands neutral on the issue, although a recent poll shows that 71% of the Laiwanese People would be okay if Laiwan took military measures to support Sanden on this issue. However, the conflict is coming to an end, so a military assault on the rebels will not be possible, as the Laiwanese Government is reluctant to send military forces to fight.

Secretary of Peace Affairs announcing the death toll

A heartbreaking tragedy has struck Laiwan.

A Laiwanese ryccian-loyalist has attacked the Laiwanese National Congress Building in southwest Milonia, the nation's capital, in a suicide car bombing.

The perpetrator was part of the AFF(Armed Fighters for the Fatherland), an extremist group in Laiwan that wants the nation to go back to Ryccian control. The group is based in southeast Laiwan, where they only control one settlement: Taizon, a small town of 15,000 that the government is retaking. The attack is thought to be a struggle of the group since they are losing their power.

Both Ryccia and Laiwan catalouged the group as terrorists when the extremists took over Taizon in April. Since then, the Laiwanese Republican Army, the Laiwanese Liberty Air Force and the Ryccian Air Force have been battling with the AFF for weeks. The town is "on the verge of being secured", according to Laiwanese officials.

Here's the press conference of the bombings with the Secretary of Peace Affairs, Luke Muyol:

"We are saddened by the recent bombing in the southwest of our capital, where the Laiwanese National Congress is headquarted. Now, we will announce the death toll:
There were 3 deaths and 35 injuries. The nearby areas were evacuated and we can assure that the complete scanning of the building and the nearby buildings as well by the evening. The en-... Uh?"

A forense analyst steps in and gives a report to the Secretary. Suddently, the Secretary begins to cry:
"We h-have the identifica-ation of t-the bodie-es... sniff... O-one of them was a C-congressman, a-another was a ja-janitor, and the last victim w-was... w-was...

The Premier!!!"

The reporters gasped, and began commenting. Maria Shang was dead.

"*regaining composture* As I was saying, the entire nation will be in mourning for a week. Thank you for your attention"

"That concludes it, Maria Shang, the Premier, is dead. This is shocking to the nation. Now to the studio"
