2016 in America

Decreasing Military Spending =/= ISIS growth.

They are growing because we(the public) are spreading their word around. They're still drawing in recruits, because we couldn't be bothered to not give them immense amounts of free(relatively speaking) publicity. Don't think it works like this? Well, let's take the example of the MTV VMAs. Sales after the show, which is well publicized and both loved and hated, increase dramatically for performing artists. Just look up Nicki Minaj or Taylor Swift sales after the 2015 VMAs.

Our military must be used after we stop mentioning ISIS. They'll be getting in less recruits then they're losing, and you can imagine how that will work out for them.

The GOP says ISIS is growing. This is complete horseshit. ISIS has been losing ground since 2014. The Kurds are taking and holding territory against ISIS and we have never been in a better position to negotiate with Iran over the possibility of an anti-ISIS coalition.

NO.  We don't need to cut down military spending.  We should be increasing military spending at a time where ISIS number are continously growing.  This a problem that directly affects us and we can't continue to decrease funding to our Military and expect ISIS to just go away.  That is a very bad idea.

I like Marco Rubio and believe he would be a good a nominee, however I do believe Trump will be the Republican nominee and will get my vote in the General.  The last thing this country needs is Hillary as President (that is if she doesn't go to jail first).  Bernie Sanders is even worse and wants to make everything free and has no real way to fund any of it.

Sometimes I strongly believe I'm like the only Republican in NS. Sad

The United States spends more money on the military than the next ten countries combined according to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, World Military Balance 2015 (for 2014). As opposed to our $581.0 billion military budget, China spends $129.4 billion, a number second to the United States, which is about 4.5 times less than what we spend. As an Independent, I see our government spending on the rise and tax rates unchanged with an ever growing public debt about to eclipse $19 trillion. As much as the public hates it, the only way to fix this is by spending cuts and the raising of taxes. Republicans throw out that $19 trillion reason and they would only make it worse. Let's not forget that the massive tax cuts that occurred during the Reagan administration is what gave birth to this huge debt that has been skyrocketing throughout the last five administrations. The way I see it, neither the Democrats nor Republicans have tried to fix this problem, which makes me sick.

More spending is not the answer to defeating ISIS. If US$ 600 billion are not doing it, then more hundreds of billions will not. What the US really needs is smarter spending, and I'm not only talking about the military. It has to stop acting like the Middle East is its backyard, because that keeps backfiring. It needs to spend on peaceful coexistence. Obviously it will have to continue having a military presence for the time being, but that presence will have to be smartly applied, and the heavy lifting has to be done by regional powers. Having more American soldiers and weapons there is just more fuel for ISIS' propaganda, and keeps the Middle East from facing its own problems, and owning up to its own flaws.

What if I told you that Hillary just won all the states that were voting Republican anyway?

June 7 is when I'm voting, and I'm voting for Bernie Sanders. I will be my first ever chance to vote in an election and I intend on taking advantage of it.

I hope Bernie wins. But regardless of who wins the Democratic primary, I think it's obvious it has and will have been a much more civil, adult and issues-oriented election that the mess Republicans call their primary.

The Republican Party is in shambles. Factions dominate it, and now, they may have trouble with votes as it may split off into separate parties those factions can call their own.
