No one actually uses real time when travelling in RP. Especially these cases. In the sat it has taken people minutes to get where they're going and in other times it takes leaders several days to fly to the country next door. Plus, bands don't normally releases songs within a few hours of each other.

And Baliish is by no way the only thing. Read more stuff here, like SCO legislation, other RP's that may not've gotten off the ground, etc etc.
