Are you sure there's not a group?

Yea. Pretty sure. If GR had a separate conversation with Faren about running, more power to him, but, I approached Faren and asked him to run by myself.

Okay, here's what Glen said happened:

sandaoguo Wrote:Farengeto decided to run at around 7:30pm Eastern last night, looking at my IRC logs. This followed a discussion about getting somebody to run against Wolf, because a group of us players universally thought Wolf would be a disaster. Farengeto was considered last among a list of those players. He decided to run because the others opted against in his favor.

And here's what you said happened in a private message to me:

Resentine Wrote:Farengeto running for MoFA was entirely my idea.

I put Faren up to it, not GR or anyone else. He had reservations at first but I got him to agree if it stopped Wolf.

Can you explain the discrepancy between Glen's version of events, you saying that you suggested Farengeto run for Minister of Foreign Affairs, but also claiming that you were not part of the group that determined Farengeto should run for Minister of Foreign Affairs? That doesn't add up, at all.

I don't see how it doesn't add up. You regularly accused Kris and GR of being members of a political cabal(I mean, just read Awe's campaign thread), so, I figured I'd clarify in my PM that they did not talk to Faren to my knowledge, and that I told him to run. Like I said, if GR told Faren to run as well, more power to him. I didn't know until you shared that thread with me.

It's entirely possible that we both approached Faren privately. Maybe GR planned to nominate him too and I just did it first. I don't know what to tell you.

Okay, I guess I'll take your word for it and we'll roll with that explanation.

Regardless, we have a fundamental disagreement over whether one should ever vote to continue a security threat designation if one does not believe the subject of that designation is still a security threat. I believe that is a misuse of security powers, and I don't think we can have confidence in someone who would misuse security powers in that way serving on the Cabinet, which is responsible for issuing security threat designations in the first place. Having restated my position on that, I will simply wish you good luck, since we've made our respective points clear and voters can now decide with whom they agree and how much of a factor that will be when voting.

So, again, good luck and thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

As always, no PMs will be sent out. Vote how you please.

Stay safe everyone!
