Well, since you demanded for it, Cormac, I'll be asking a question based upon your actually platform. A first in this thread, I believe. Tounge

The above quote is the exact same opinion you had for the North Pacific Army, back in 2013, when you tried, and failed, to recall the NPA from it's support mission of The Black Hawks in Warhammer 40000. A mission, for the sake of disclosure, I personally authorized as Acting Delegate of The North Pacific and elected Vice Delegate.

So I must ask, is it your opinion that every military in Nationstates only invade Warzones, but only the Warzones that don't have established communities of course, or is that opinion only reserved for the militarizes of The South Pacific and The North Pacific?

Leaving TNP aside because that was more than two years ago in a different region and under very different circumstances, as well as a different gameplay alignment for me...

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm not saying the SPSF should be permanently restricted to Warzone operations. I'm saying that, during this extremely contentious time, it is preferable for the SPSF to avoid any operation that might lead to further controversy. We absolutely don't need bickering over gameplay alignment on top of all of the other problems we're currently having. Now, when these issues are resolved, after the Great Council, I absolutely think the SPSF -- or whatever we call the military under a new constitution -- should return to more meaningful operations that involve both raiding and defending with allies and other friendly regions. I've only proposed limiting the SPSF to Warzone training operations as a non-controversial, temporary way to avoid contentious debate over gameplay alignment while keeping the SPSF active and having fun during the upcoming Great Council.

I have been recently pushing for Warzone Training ops in Regions controlled by TSP. I believe that promoting these ops, and then limiting SPSF operations to to them for the time being is a wise move. I support this judgement call Cormac.

I would then ask for a detailed plan of Action for how you intend to implement these Missions, and how they will work. Right now, to me at least, SPSF numbers prevent us from properly supporting such a plan, as, in my mind anyway, such ops would be entirely orchestrated by SPSF and would have veterans faceing off against new recruits in controlled environments. If you have another plan for how to excersize these practice ops, I am all ears Smile.

Thanks for the support for this idea.  Happywide

Regarding how to implement these operations, I agree that numbers are a problem. I think it's really important to have some activity going in order to effectively recruit, because people are more inclined to join up if they see things happening. So even with the numbers we have I would at least like to do some small tag training operations in Warzones or regions created for training, right out of the gate, to aid in recruitment. If we don't have the numbers ourselves, I'd ask our allies to get involved too.

I think your idea of veterans facing off against new recruits in war games is a great idea though, and once we've recruited -- recruitment will be my main priority -- and have sufficient numbers, that's definitely something I'll be looking to implement. Thanks for the suggestion!

In light of this, I am withdrawing my campaign. I will not run for Minister of the Army if nominations are re-opened, and I am no longer campaigning for nominations to be re-opened.

I am also changing my stance in regard to the Delegate and Vice Delegate race, and will be voting for Wolf and Mallorea and Riva.
