Lampshade Shoutouts
#1

The lampshade is a symbol of The South Pacific's fun and lighthearted spirit. The idea is that our region is a jammin' party, where we all have unlimited sun, margaritas, and — of course — lampshades.

Recently (okay, for the last few years) our region has resembled more of a cutthroat political party than a beach-side fiesta. And while, in comparison to the Great Council and other discussions, this idea is very small, I hope it might help at least a tiny bit.

This thread is an opportunity to give a "Lampshade Shoutout." This is a shoutout toward a particular person or peoples who deserve recognition for GREAT WORK that they've been doing.

This thread is not a place for debate, for discussion, or really any negativity at all. This is a place to show people, over time, that we appreciate what they do — both big and small.

A "Lampshade Shoutout" could be as small as recognizing someone for a hilarious joke in the Spam area, or a great roleplay post, or a really well thought-out assembly post. ANYTHING at all.

Hopefully, this might remind each other that we do appreciate each other — even when we disagree over politics.  Smile

Okay, I want to start off my giving a shoutout to Tsunamy.

Tsu has been under an incredible amount of pressure since the coup. And while nobody is perfect, Tsu has worked tirelessly to make our region a more harmonious and better place. Their work entails service as both an administrator AND Delegate, which is an insane amount of effort and a tough needle to thread!

Thank you Tsunamy!!!  Heart Heart Heart

Hi! Me again!

I would like to shout out Kris for his excellent Assembly post here. While not everyone might agree with it, I appreciate his level-headed attempt to explain a point of view to everyone else. With more posts like this, I think the Assembly could become a MUCH more civil and enjoyable place to spend time.

This is a probably a bit late -- but I want to give a shout out to Bel, and everyone who helped, to put together the outline procedures for the GC.

It'll make it that much easier when we start the process later this week!

There are a lot of people I'd like to give a shoutout to, so let's get started.
I'd like to start out by giving a shoutout to Tsu for helping me find my political voice in my first days, and for being the voice of reason in all of my time here.
Next I'd like to shout out Resentine. Ever since he joined he has been a solid and dependable presence in the RP world, and almost constantly a consistently friendly and helpful person.
Ryccia also deserves attention here. Without him, the RP section and the Lampshade Bar would have been much quieter and much less violent. Tounge
Finally, I'd like to give Cathalea (formerly ProfessorHenn) a shoutout. When I first arrived, Henn was my role model in so many ways. And although we've had our disagreements, I was quite sad when he left the first time. For better or for worse, he has made an indelible mark on my NS experience.
