CSS Recall of Sam111
#91

I'll actually ask that question: why do you still refuse to resign?

I don't mean that in the snarky why-don't-you-leave-already sense. I mean it as a genuine question. You just couped the region, the fourth time in the history of this region that something like that has happened. Any average observer would conclude that it makes no sense for you to remain a member of the institution tasked with preventing and fighting coups.

So, if you are known to have participated actively in a coup to this region and just admitted publicly to your role in a separate thread, what makes you think you are qualified or entitled to remaining in the Committee? In my mind it makes perfect sense that a couper should not be entrusted with anti-coup security. I'm genuinely trying to understand your reasoning here, because I can't make sense out of it.

This is just ridiculous. It's failed once and that's that.
Voting on this again and again is quite undemocratic itself.

I feel like I can do a lot more good for the region on the CSS than off it. Until I feel otherwise, I have no intention of resigning.

Seconded.
For the record, I completely disagree with this.
We held a vote, it failed. Lacking any new evidence or revelations related to this recall, this is absolutely ridiculous.

couldn't the same be asked of you given the multiple controversies in past months linked to your role as an Admin?  At least GR has recognized that some of the steps taken may have crossed the line (earlier controversy) and should be discussed openly.

Apparently, Sam apologized several days ago in the hidden CSS forum.

For some strange reason, however, the CSS decided it wasn't important for the Assembly to know that Sam had already personally apologized to them.

No, no, no, no, no, guys.

Looks guys, I abstained from the first vote and will abstain from any future votes. But this isn't how we do things. We don't let know vote fail only to call that vote in a few days for the same purpose, hoping for a different outcome.

We're not the U.S. Congress.

But seriously, Sam posted an explanation and said he's willing to answer questions. Let's hear him out -- if in a week or two weeks you all still feel the same way, by all means. But this is just too quick of a turn around.

I really don't think this is a fair comparison.

Generally, the CSS would keep what's posted/discussed on the CSS forums private. There was nothing nefarious here, but I don't think it was anyone's place -- but Sam's -- to discuss or post this publicly.

My motion remains, but I will not be posting any longer.

The suggestion that we should simply keep voting on this matter till we get a different result is ridiculous. It's quite possible that it could happen - we won't get exactly the same group of people voting as last time - but stinks of petulance and an unwillingness to accept defeat.
