I made the star to the flag above by complete accident while using Inkscape a few years ago. I moved my mouse while adjusting a certain aspect of a normal star and that is what came out of it. Right off the bat, I whispered an expletive, but stared at the new star and couldn't help but admire what I just did. I thought, "Damn, that is beautiful." Since that day in 2013, I have used a variety of flags, all of which inherit this one star.

My original (pre RP) flag had two Chocobos on the green squares. I think I explained in the cantina how this was based on an heraldic crest in a story I'm writing for my daughter, but, to add further interest, here's two more pieces of trivia:

1) The world the story is set in is actually the setting of a long-running FF-inspired RP I ran with some friends. It spawned several sequels, but sadly died, apart from occasional side stories, due to lack of time. This is my first real foray into RPing since.

2) When reading up on the history of South America as research for Erinor’s history I came across the article on Terror birds and their potential similarity to Chocobos got me thinking. Long story short, Erinor is now home to the last extant species of Phorusrhacidae and they are it's national animal.

Perhaps the old flag was a design by a child for a competition? Lol.
