Thanks for the question, Omega.

As I said above, I won't tolerate flaming, outright trolling, etc., in the Assembly, and I'm also going to insist that legislators refrain from threadjacking. Aside from that and trying to lead by example, though, I don't believe there is much that can be done as Chair without infringing upon others' free speech, which is something I won't do. It's a community responsibility to reduce toxicity, and there are only limited ways the Chair can encourage its reduction.

I also do have to note, however, that I think toxicity is very much in the eye of the beholder. I don't see it as a significant problem right now. There are times when debate gets heated, but for the most part I wouldn't classify it as toxic, with some occasional exceptions. During my brief tenure here previously and as an outside observer, I've seen far worse toxicity in the Assembly, and I think great strides have already been made in reducing toxicity.

I would be inclined to agree, actually. We get very passionate about our arguments and it doesn't always make for pleasant reading, but we do not have an atmosphere of toxicity or unfriendliness, such as might be experienced in other regions.

Are there any ways you'd seek to reform the role of CoA, through legislation, whilst you're in office?

There are no significant reforms that come to mind. I would like to clarify some aspects of legislator removal -- the Chair currently can't remove someone for lacking a nation in the region, nor excuse someone for a leave of absence -- and I would like to ensure that there is an acting Chair during any interim period between resignation or removal of a Chair and election of a new Chair.
