Looking through all the laws passed in the General Assembly, I realized something. We have zero GA laws having to do with drug use or restriction. Sure, I saw a few regarding other aspects of drugs, such as drug trafficking, but nothing on the limitation on drugs that may be a threat to life. Thus, I decided to write this law proposal doing such. I would appreciate any advice or pointing out any revisions that might be made to improve it, as this is the first World Assembly proposal I have written. Thanks in advance. (:

Recognizing that there has been no laws passed in the General Assembly regarding the regulation of life threatening drugs to date.

Noting that some of the common side effects of these drugs can include, but are not limited to, a weakened immune system, cardiovascular issues (including an increased heart rate and heart attacks), liver failure, seizures, strokes, permanent brain damage, addiction, and death.

Also noting that all of the aforementioned side effects of these drugs can impede someone's ability to live a normal life or, in a worst case scenario, end someone’s life.

Appalled that there has been no course of action to, in any way, regulate these substances or mandate health services be given to those affected by the aforementioned life threatening drugs.

With the above mentioned, the World Assembly hereby does the following:

Defines Drug to be a substance that has a physiological effect on the user and, with prolonged use, can impede someone's ability to function normally or live a normal life.

Defines Life threatening drug as any drug that can pose a threat to one's life if used for a prolonged period of time.

Requires that Nations either have companies that can provide easy access to medical care and drug addiction relief to those affected by Drugs or Life Threatening Drugs within their Nation that is affordable to all or, if there is a lack of such companies, must provide such services to their citizens.

Establishes the Drug Regulation Administration (DRA) which will research various substances to determine if it is a Drug or Life Threatening Drug, as well as overseeing the regulation of Drugs and Life Threatening Drugs.

Declares that any substance declared by the DRA to be a Life Threatening Drug shall be illegal in any Nation of a WA member and circulation of said substance must be ceased by any means possible; any substance declared by the DRA to be a Drug must be regulated thereafter, only obtainable via prescription by a medical professional, and all over the counter sales of the aforementioned substance must cease.

Also Declares that any substance declared by the DRA to be a Drug or Life Threatening Drug must have a DRA warning label saying that it has been classified as a Drug or Life Threatening Drug, and must also include the common side affects of said substance.
