I am completely against proxy voting.
If you aren't able to be active for all of a debate or discussion then shouldn't be voting in it - as you clearly cannot make an informed choice. The right to vote is a right, but it is also a responsibility to exercise that power wisely. You can't do that if you haven't been able to follow the discussion. It is unfortunate that RL can get in the way of this from time to time, but better this than proxy voting which will just make it easy to not bother participating in debate and real democratic activity.
Did you fail to read where I stated that I would be around for the discussion/debate/question peroxide of the election but I would miss my chance to cast my vote? So how is that being un informed as to what is going on?
Although this dose bring to light another issue with this thought process. The lazy ones out there that would use this as an excuse to not worry about keeping up. I am so gonna have to ponder on this issue. We can always have a question/answer thing that the person applying for a proxy voter would have to fill out before being granted the use of the proxy vote. Maybe make the application process and approval of it go through the EC? I am by no means saying "lets make this easy" heck if TSP wanted easy we most certainly would not be where we are today. Also this is just a sort of kick around idea, for now, because I know that to move it on down the road to a vote I would need to work this out a bit better and that is most likely not happening until Sept or Oct.

What to put together something like this proposal? I would say that you most certainly can do so, but again I don't want people to think that I am just an idea/leave it at that type of gal. Honestly I do plan on doing the work, I just have to have the time and resources to do it
