SUBJECT: Jakobsen Expedition

Cathrine,

I read the internal opinion regarding the Jakobsen Expedition, and I need to state for the record my strong opposition to it. I don’t care if Southern Lovende is technically fair game for scientific expeditions. We both know that the area is unstable and prone to incidents from the Other Side.

I’ve already submitted a full memo with my opinion, and I hope that it will be taken seriously. I will not be held liable for what is sure to prove a serious mistake. If this expedition is allowed to visit Southern Lovende, we might as well consider them lost.

Leif

Hallo Leif,

I’ve read your memo, and I know that there are indications of dangerous activity in Southern Lovende. These risks have already been discussed by the Senior Analysts prior to issuing their internal opinion.

Their opinion is that the risks are manageable, and if things do get risky for Professor Jakobsen, we can arrange a rescue mission from Matias IV to extract them as soon as twenty minutes after the detection of any suspicious incidents.

I share some of your concerns, and I promise I will raise them at the incoming Analysts meeting, but remember that much of this is beyond our control.
