The Board of Powers: Bzerneleg to Join the World Forum

Bzerneleg Secretary of State David Rasmussen exiting the Department of State building for a visit to Grovne, Sedunn, to witness the vote on the country's accession to the World Forum

Today, the Bzerneleg government sent a letter to the World Forum Speaker of the Assembly Marcus Bailey requesting its accession to the prestigious organization. A vote has been opened shortly after Speaker Bailey received the letter to decide on whether to give Bzerneleg a seat at the WF table. It is expected that there will be an unanimous vote favouring the country's accession to the World Forum.

The World Forum is currently the only intergovernmental organization in the South Pacific. It is composed of 10 members and 2 observers, including some of the most powerful countries in the region. Bzerneleg has been a rising regional power since its entrance into the world stage, establishing diplomatic relations with dozens of countries both inside and outside the South Pacific and participating in major international events, such as the response to the Qhichwa Earthquake and more recently the Reizen Civil War.

Many political experts see this as an attempt to consolidate power and catch up on other big South Pacifican players: Huawan, Sedunn, Resentine and others. As we see the country securing a voice and a seat at negiotiation tables and its national ideals and interests being embraced abroad, Bzerneleg will be undergoing major transformations when it starts to obtain more global leadership.

However, everything comes with a price. With great power comes great responsibility. With a great goal comes great difficulty. Bzerneleg will face various barriers and challenges in its effort to expand the idea of democratic governance across the South Pacific. The recent rise of the regional "Communist Bloc" and an unstable Reizen pose a bigger threat than ever to the Bzerneleg government's fight to advance its interests abroad.

President Blythe talking to reporters at the Presidential Mansion on Saturday afternoon

BELMONT - The President is in deep water again after an audio tape of him referring to Agot and Kotci as "inferior" was leaked to major media organizations in Bzerneleg. He has since faced criticisms from members of Parliament from both sides of the aisle, including Senate Majority Leader Charles Holburn, a member of his own party.

Members of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs have sent a letter to President Blythe, urging him to withdraw his statement and issue an apology to the people of Agot and Kotci. There has yet been a statement from the Presidential Mansion on this matter, however, President Blythe has tweeted on Twitter the following: "I've got nothing to apologize for."

The President's tweet sparked outrage among the Bzerneleg diplomatic community, which led to many people calling him "childish" and "egotistic". As the midterm election nears, opposition parties have made attacks against the Blythe administration and his own party, the Republican Party, hoping to gain more seats in Parliament to put more pressure on the Republicans and President Blythe.

The transcript of the audio tape is as follows:

PRESIDENT BLYTHE: I don't even know why those small nations are in Reizen. What the hell are they even doing there? (laughter)

SECRETARY OF STATE RASMUSSEN: Only God will be able to know. (laughter)

PRESIDENT BLYTHE: To be honest with you, I don't need to pay for my Netflix subscription any more. Just gonna watch them and I'd already (expletive) my pants. (laughter)

SECRETARY OF STATE RASMUSSEN: If they try to do anything to us, we bomb the (expletive) out of them. (laughter)

PRESIDENT BLYTHE: I don't even know who'd want to lead those trashy inferior countries. (laughter) Perhaps you tell your department to send them a few Bzerne passports. (laughter)
