Remember that any process towards any new relationship (especially ones with whom we historically haven't had good relationships) would take a long, long, long time to work out and would necessarily involve figuring out all the past issues between the two parties. So I'd like to not immediately throw out potential just because of the past. If we continue to do that, our future can only be a reflection of our past. That's a dangerous road to take because it means no change is possible.
