Nakari for PM
#1

Hi. I know I said I wasn’t going to run this time, and I did believe that, but my exams were not quite as demanding as expected, and I got some quite enthusiastic nominations, so I figured I’d try my hand at it. I do apolozige for the late campaign - I usually decide to run earlier and have more time to prepare!

Why me? First, I already have positions here that I have put in time and effort for - I have been appointed to both Legislator Committee and to be a moderator. So I’m fairly trustworthy. Second, a Prime Minister needs to be ready to step in to lead any of the ministries. I have experience in all three of our ministries. I have been in the SPSF since 2017, with current rank of Commander. I served as an ambassador to TRR for a while in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as briefly as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and I’m currently a member of the MoRA Advisory Council. And I’ve been a Minister of every Ministry, even if not the longest-serving for some of them Tounge

The summer is notoriously quiet, but we don’t need to make that worse by not letting people know what’s going on. We need to keep letting people know what activity there is. The Cabinet Twitter worked out quite well for this last term when we kept it regularly updated. It doesn’t need to be every week, just often enough so that people don’t think a Ministry is dead when it’s been internally active. I think the MoMA reports worked really well for this and though not every ministry has activities that can be reported so discretely, gotta at least let people know we’re alive!

Once we have things for people to do, we can and should be a lot more open about recruiting. A recruitment telegram for the SPSF brought in several new recruits, so it’s definitely a successful technique, especially, I imagine, if multiple ministers are contributing and advertising fairly often. We can see from this election that few people are enthusiastic about taking on leadership roles right now. Previously, we've tried to bring more people into leadership through taking on deputies - last term, quite frankly, this didn't work and none of the deputies were active. Recruitment, and giving recruits something to do, is, I believe, an effective way to start replenishing our talent pools.

Increased government presence on the RMB is important to keep the communities on both aligned. I’ve been fairly active on the RMB recently and plan to continue that. The previously mentioned activity awareness will be taken to the RMB, too, and I’d like to see the other ministers occasionally pop up there - the AMA idea was a good one.

I get very grumpy when ministers don’t stick to their goals. Now I can kick them into getting the stuff done that they said they’d do, but with more clout to do so, more ability to track their goals, and more sweet, sweet power! I also will stick to Cabinet-wide goals, as I have before - I was the driver behind the Sunshine Act releases of last term, and plan to get those done as on time as possible. Using the forum instead of Discord for important discussions worked out well this term and I’ll continue with this as much as possible (though I know certain candidates might not be so happy with it if they are elected, sorry Tounge )

I see the Prime Minister as a role that brings out the best in both the elected Ministers and in the region as a whole. I believe I have the experience and skills to lead our region effectively and keep us going strong through the summer. I hope you all believe in me too.
