[DISCUSSION] Assembly Awards
#1

Guten Tag!

I'd just like to gauge interest in an annual event whereby we go all ceremonial and open up an 'Assembly legislative session'. It is mostly just an excuse to give an award to a 'Legislator of the year' and induct them into a Hall of Fame.

Credit to @Omega for the idea.

I like this idea kek, if only to suffer through the chaos that would ensue in VC awards

For the record, in my opinion, it doesn't have to be just one person inducted in the hall of fame. The way I envisioned it was a bit more complex: the Chair would put forward a slate of potential hall of fame members to the cabinet and current hall of fame members to vote on. The slate would ultimately be complied by the Chair and would never be publically released, however, the chair would be encouraged to take public suggestions. Any person on the slate who gets 2/3rds of those voting to approve them gets put in the Hall of Fame. The people who don't get 2/3rds are never notified they were on the slate and that's the end of the road for them. The goal if for it to be a surprise for those who get in but also for it to not be something that could be used to roast someone publically if they didn't get in.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

And then an undemocratically elected fool takes over, and creates too much noise- ah, wrong place.

I agree that a hall of fame is a good idea, but does it only have to be legislators, or could it be RMBers as well?

Seeing as how this would be an Assembly hall of fame, it would be for legislators. It would be proper for the LC to create an RMB/Gameside hall of fame.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.
