The Sir Lans Award is given to the best 'updater', as the nation who has contributed the most to update missions over the year. 

The award is named after Sir Lans of the YoungWorld, who served as a senior member of ADN and its successor organisation the Defender Security Alliance (DSA) before going on to become a long-time member of the Founderless Regions Alliance (FRA) and serving as a leading commander of the FRA Rangers for many years as well as successful terms as Arch Chancellor. Sir Lans won the Defender of the Year Award in 2008 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.
