The Defender Awards 2019 are now open!

I am very grateful to the South Pacific for offering to host this years awards. The awards are an annual event and were founded in 2006 by Northern Chittowa. They commemorate the last year of bravery, heroism, professionalism from Defenders across NS as well as (hopefully) capturing some of the lighter hearted moments that bring us together.

In particular we seek to recognise the accomplishments of some of our best and brightest defenders and liberators who have sought to keep free regions free across the NationStates world.

We welcome everyone to take part in the awards.

As always, we will begin with a round of nominations for each category. Nominations must be seconded to make the ballot paper. Nominations will close on 16th November.

We will then have a voting period (again open to all), and votes can be cast on these forums or on NS (details here). The voting will close at 2200 GMT on 22nd November with the Award Ceremony on the 23rd November.

Our awards for this year are largely the same as previous years, although slightly streamlined. The awards are:

Defender of the Year
The Ananke Award - for spotting invasions
The Anarchotopia Award - for the best region or organisation
The Sir Lans Award - for the 'updater' of the year
The Karputsk Award - for the nation who was most effective at leading liberations
Operation of the Year
Best Newcomer
The World Assembly Security Council Award
The Eluvatar Award - for Tech contributions to the Defender cause
The Numero Capitan Award - for intel contributions to the Defender cause
The Blackbird Award - for the 'best' invader group
The Worst Invader Group Award
Best Defender Quote
Meltdown of the Year
The Lifetime Achievement Award for Dedication to Defending
