TSP and Me.
#1

Almost two years ago I embarked on a journey that would change my life.

Around the beginning of April 2018 I rejoined NationStates, which was a game I played a bit when I was younger but never got really into. I'd play for a week at most every so often throughout 3 years, only coming back after months and several CTE's.

Then I found TSP.

I had seen TSP before, very briefly on one of my short returns to NS I had seen the gameside voting round for delegate that was contested by Feirmount. I thought to myself that I would have to try it out one day.

When I first joined TSP I had no idea how the game worked, I had no idea who you guys were, and I especially had no idea what all the acronyms you guys threw around meant. I even stopped playing for a bit until I received a DM from a legislator named Bzerneleg.

At the time the chair elections were happening and he wanted help running his campaign. I happily obliged. In the days that followed we talked about our visions of where TSP should be and how we could achieve these dreams, and we talked about our plans and how we could get people on board, and we talked about Nakari and how we could defeat her in the race for the chair seat. We spoke directly to nearly every legislator, and we did ok. In the end we only lost by a single vote.

If you would have asked me at that time what my career here in TSP meant I would have said "Planning".

I have since come to the realization that there is so much more to my career here, to my being here, to the collective choice of the people that make up TSP to do just that: Be a part of TSP.

There is no single position or person in the region that actually makes it home, it is through the cumulative effort of hundreds of people past, present, and future that softly guide and shape how TSP looks and feels. And so to them I say this: Thank you.

Past: When I first joined TSP Bzern was a huge part of my experience, he was my first ally and friend here. But now he isnt here. I carry on his legacy in the same way that we carry on hope. His story as a part of TSP is one of many that helped shape this region, and I am only lucky in the regard that I saw it firsthand. I say thank you to you Bzern, because the region wouldnt be as it is now if it weren't for you.

Present: The people we have now should be appreciated because it is their turn to shape the region. You may not expect to hear this from me but we all owe a great deal to Roavin and Nakari, for their dedication to the region and their skillfull shaping of it. We may have fought in the past but that is only because we are passionate. I say thank you to you Roavin and Nakari because together we shape the region.

Future: This one is for the people who havent joined yet but will. You hold the future in your hand, in the way that I do now. As community members we must remember that it is an honor to build something that lasts, and if the region continues once I leave TSP then we would have done just that. I say thank you to you the unknown future legislator because together we can say we built TSP.

To close out this first part I would like to share with you one of the things I hold dear: it is a journal page that I ripped out of a notebook and wrote the chair election tallies on when Bzern faced Nakari when I first joined TSP. One column says Pal and one column says Nak, and the tallies count all the way down the page. And it means so much to me.

If you were to ask me now what my TSP career means I would say that it means "Family".

The role of the delegate is a simple one, a Guardian and a protector: As delegate I would seek to continue the stability and in short be the guy who doesnt press the Big Red Button. Beyond being a figurehead the delegate has little formal power in the government, which is why im hesitant to plan much beyond being protection in the region but I will be looking at establishing a WA ministry and program. This goal isnt achievable solely as delegate and will require an act of assembly atleast for the ministry to be established. Other things I intend on looking at is reestablishing the Legion of Honor, working with the LC to bring gameside players to the forum and the discord, and commissioning a formal TSP anthem.

I'm excited to be here today and I'm excited to have the chance to run for delegate! Thank you TSP

There are certain things that should undoubtedly be left to the nations, but im not against the WA actually doing things. If we are to get the WA program up and started then we'll obviously need to write and pass some sort of legislation for the WA but I wouldnt take it too far.

In short my awnser is: Yes.

OOH I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE CANDIDATE! (a serious one, actually!)

Cake or Pie?

If you had to make a general "mission statement" for your Delegacy, what would it be and why?  What ideologies would you stand for?

When are we getting the rest of your campaign?

I never got what the cake vs pie issue is, but irl i prefer pie.

My mission statement would be: Continuing stability and harmony while establishing a WA program that all TSP citizens could be proud of.
