PHOENIX FOR CHAIR PERCH OF ASSEMBLY 2020 |
|
*It is the break of dawn of a new year. The sun is beginning to rise over the calm, still shore of one of the very lovely South Pacific islands. With the sun, a giant, majestic bird rises over the horizon, her fiery golden feathers glowing brightly with the heat of a million suns. The bird settles on one of the larger branches of one of the taller trees on the island, allowing her elegant crest and tail feathers to settle delicately on the gentle sands. The bird suddenly turns to stare at you, fair reader, and inside your mind, you hear a faint whisper.*
"Who are you voting for Chair of Assembly this time around?" |
|
Hello, fellow citizens of this fair region we call the South Pacific, if we haven't met officially, I am Phoenix. I was the Deputy Chair of Assembly this past term, and I am hoping that you would consider me as your Chair of Assembly this term. It is my sincere hope to do everything in my power to keep the legislative branch running smoothly during my term.

THE CAMPAIGN
|
Attention
|
Attention to detail is vital in the position of Chair of the Assembly. Any laws that are found to have significant typos, grammatical errors, etc. will need to be amended. Any bill currently in discussion will need to be corrected before going to vote. It will be my pleasure to point these out as I see them.
|
Continuity
|
The work of my predecessors before me have helped tremendously in keeping Legislators in the loop about what is going on in the Assembly. I vow to continue to ping Legislators any time a vote begins on Discord, and shall continue dispatch announcements for every new vote. I will expand on this idea by pinging Legislators when a vote has 1 hour left, and when a vote closes, and issuing dispatches as appropriate.
|
Engagement
|
It is important that the Chair of Assembly is knowledgeable about discussions currently ongoing in the Assembly. That is why I will keep track of these discussions and publish an end-of-week digest of all discussions going on that week, in the main subforum. Graphs will be another thing I ill look to continuously improve during my term, making even more aesthetic graphs, for my data presenting pleasure, and for your viewing pleasure.

Presently, I am a citizen of the South Pacific, and only the South Pacific. I have not had involvement with other regions aside from SPSF, multi-regional festivals, N-Day, etc.

Conclusion

2 questions:
1. What will you do should you not be elected?
2. Who is your favorite historical figure?
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

1. Well, should I not be elected, I would hope to do what I can to learn from Amerion and what he does as chair. Basically, what I always do. Observe n learn, after all, that's what you can do.
2. I personally favor John Muir and Isaac Newton as historical figures (I can't decide which!) Muir was just a really stinkin' cool dude at the forefront of late 1800's-early 1900's conservationalism, helped build the case for the national parks we can enjoy today in the USA. Newton was incredibly intelligent, I mean, imagine being someone intelligent enough to invent calculus? He was also one of the top classical physicists, very bright.

Why should I vote for you over Amerion? Or, better worded, what would make you a better CoA?

I don't believe it is possible to be a better choice than Amerion. The dude has more experience and some out-of-this-world graphics skills. That being said, I do have experience in the Chair, and I am the current acting Chair, having been Nakari's Deputy this term. I don't think the graphs I have made this past term were terrible, and I honestly love doing the stuff. And I could only improve with time, much like a fine wine.
What's wrong with Newton anyways? I like Calculus... lol
An Enormous Thank You To Everyone
The title says it all. Thank you so much for having put just enough faith in me to elect me as your Chair of the Assembly. I cannot say this enough.
And a special thanks to Amerion, who is astoundingly awesome. I cannot express in words, honestly, how awesome you are.
I will not disappoint, I can promise you all this!
*insert as many hugs as you wish here, unless you don't want hugs*
