Although the answer to this question is somewhat clearer following a conversation on Discord, could I request an answer to this on the forums as well, just for posterity?
Aga/Eunopiar

Mostly does boring things.

We live in the South Pacific. The assumption that we have a "forum government" is false. The Assembly, Cabinet, and Council on Regional Security have chosen to do formal business on the forum, but that does not make it a forum government. We have since also done informal business on Discord, but that does not make us a Discord government either. The government of the South Pacific is just that — the government of the South Pacific. At this point, I just find it condescending and elitist whenever I hear someone on the RMB or forum making some sort of argument why the region is the RMB Pacific or the Forum Pacific. Once again, I state that we live in the South Pacific.

This is nice platitude, but couldn’t be more wrong. Hileville took over the Cabinet, not the RMB, and had to create a new forum to try to solidify and legitimize his coup, after all.

Can’t believe it’s 2020 and we still don’t have a good grasp on the importance of recognizing forum government legitimacy.

Glen, com'on. As I've pointed out, we don't have a forum without the RMB gameside. I'm frankly uninterested in rehashing this argument yet again, but, by all means please try to run an NS region without having some major presence in game.

If this is how TSP finally burns, then it is the way I want it to go

TSP has been through far worse than this. We've been couped, had to rebuild our gov't, went through two Great Councils, had our forums moved once or twice, and had some pretty heated debates over the past quarantine. This, in correlation to all the things that have happened, is pretty abysmal in terms of severity. At least the gov't is still here...

NOMINATION OF AUPHELIA TO THE COUNCIL

31 May 2020

Madam Chairwoman and Esteemed Legislators,

It is with regret that the Council inform the Assembly of its intention to withdraw this nomination from consideration.

Over the past four days, we have been engaged in a healthy dialogue with Legislators about our recommendation, as well as liaising with Auphelia herself and, in light of the prevailing attitude of the Assembly and Auphelia's own sense of not fitting in, she has agreed to withdraw her proposal.

Faithfully yours,

The Council on Regional security
